Yeah Me!

I have had 3 wonderful things happen that I have been dying to announce:
* I am now COPIC Certified...I have been dying to go and I finally got the chance and I was certified over the weekend! Yeah...
* I have been asked to be a Design Team member for Art Impressions stamps! There stamps are darling and the old folks are just hysterical! Love these stamps!
* I have been asked to design for The Rubber Cafe. They have great stamps and fun things to use for stamping!
So there is my news and I will be back later with a card or something wonderful! thank y'all for following my blog and for the kind words of encouragement and praise. To GOD be the glory and to me be the Inky Fingers!

Baby Horatio in a Pink Pocket!!!

Another day, another challenge! I made this super cute
pocket card for the challenge for the Stampin' for the Weekend blog. It was to make a pocket card. I found this really cute idea and I knew that Baby Horatio from Paper Makeup was perfect for this! I wanted to make her pink because I LOVE pink! Pink and kraft paper together is yummy! I used my copic markers to color her in and she is so soft and sweet and sleepy! My friend Nancy did the same card style and you can see my cards "twin" here! Our daughters were at Gymboree and we got some stamp time, free of "helpers!"

On the inside of this card, I embossed pink flourishes and on the card, I added little flowers and some gems to match her sparkly cloud! I used Shimmerz on the cloud and I LOVE the effect that it has! Some clouds have a silver lining and this cloud IS a gold lining all over the place! I used the SU tab punch and a cute little rub on for the words. Then, I used the glitter pen to add the dots for some more sparkle! So check out the challenge when you can and play along!

Paper Makeup is sponsoring this weeks challenge and you have a chance at a fun and fabby prize! Thanks for stopping by!!!

DRS Dazzling Diamond Challenge

This card is for the challenge over at the DRS Designs challenge blog. It was to make a card using the dazzling diamonds technique...FUN

I never did this before and the end result is awesome and this is the easiest technique ever! The best part is for those who do not like to get a "messy" glitter card, they WON'T... the glitter stays PUT! I used this super cute cupcake image from DRS and colored it with copic markers . Then, I did the technique(click on the link for the info) and then I put the card together! This was QUICK, fun and sooo sparkly and pretty!!!

We would love for y'all to play along with us and please link your card here so we can OOOHHH and AHHHH at your awesome creations! Thanks for popping in!!!

Happy Fourth of July!!!

So I saw something like this for sale somewhere and I thought," I can TOTALLY make this!" So I got out my HUGE binder of DRS stamps and i knew exactly which one to go to! I took the Star Background and stamped it in silver ink all over red and blue cardstock and let it dry first. Then I took my large star punch and punched out enough stars to
spell CELEBRATE. I used letter rub ons and spelled out the word using white letters. I adhered each star onto the red, white and blue ribbon and created a loop at the top so that you can hang this wherever you want! This was so quick and easy to make and I did not have to spend like $10...more money for stamps! I took a close up of the stars so that you can see how gorgeous the background is! I have a little friend who has a July 4th birthday and I think she will enjoy having this so she can enjoy her special day and decorate her room as well! Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you will create some wonderful little decoration like this for your CELEBRATIONS as well!
here is the close up!!!

Happy Birthday Paper Makeup Katie...

Happy Birthday to YOUUUUUU!!!
I tried like 300 times to post a pretty cake... but it just made me want cake
and the photo never worked out... but I hope it is the happiest!
I am so blessed to know you and your hearty HAHAHAHA's in my e mails
make me smile!
Love Ya, Katie... Have a good one!

Two, Two, Two Challenges in One!

For some reason, I LOVE combining the Midnight Madness Challenge and the Copic Color Challenge, and this week was no exception! I used a GREAT sketch from Midnight Madness and these soft, pretty copic colors and I am really pleased with the way this card came out! I used Shimmerz on her wings (of course) and fun paper that matched so well and these cute little blingy things in the corner that I got in New York! The layered flowers with the gingham brads really set off the whole look of soft, pretty pastell-ness (is that a word) that is this card! Please check out these 2 fun challenge blogs and play along... it is super fun! Tomorrow, I am going to feature a fun Fourth of July project that features a great stamp from DRS, so be sure to check back then and get ready to get red white and blue! Have a great day!

Paper Makeup Sketch Challenge... Play Along!!!

I made this card for the Paper Makeup Monday Challenge.Click here for the sketch . I used Mary the Fairy for this challenge and I decided to make my fairy bride wear purple. I LOVE this paper from Basic Grey. The shades are so pretty and the embellishments that I had matched really well! I colored her with copic markers and added SHIMMERZ to her wings to make her sparkle... like any good fairy should! For the fine lines, I used glitter pens. Please check out the sketch and play along with us. If you upload to any gallery, please used PMSMC16 as your keyword so we can find your creations! Thanks for stopping by!

Pool Party Favors... For the Big Kids!!!

I love DRS Stamps. When I saw these images almost a year ago, I KNEW that I had to make something with them... but what... THAT was the question. I love to make cards... but I wanted something different. Then it came to me! Pool Party Favors! I bought this drink bottle at the dollar store. They are plastic, so they won't break and be a hazard at the pool! I made the template for the pouch from a 4 x 11 piece of paper. I designed this particular one myself! I used this awesome Lemon and Lime background stamp and this super fun Mixed Drink stamp as well. I colored all of these with copic markers and tied a little ribbon around the top! I used a circle nestie to cut the opening fit around the top of the bottle. I rounded the corners of the paper with a mug turned upside down and traced it and then cut the corners off. So there it is! I love the bright colors and this was EASY!!! it took NO time to make and I could duplicate this for party favors in no time!!! Thanks for checking in and have a great day!!!

Sketch and Color Challenge... and a New Stamp!

I made this card for a a sketch on a new blog that I found!! It is a Midnight Madness Sketch (#6), and it was fun! Fun, fun, fun...never enough sketches to go around, in my opinion! You have to check out this challenge blog...there are cash prizes, and if they reach a certain number of followers by the end of June, the cash prize will double!! That is pretty cool and fun!!

I also used the colors for the Copic Color Challenge Blog. I did not have all of them... but I used what I had and I thought that it worked out really nicely! Petite Diva has been at camp all week and I have had my mornings free to CREATE!!! Yahoo! It was really nice and the big payoff was seeing how much fun she had at camp! We went for her performance today and I asked her what her favorite part was and she said "Seeing you, Momma!" I ADORE that child! Anyway... thanks for looking and get out your
Paper Makeup stamps for a Play Along Saturday Challenge!!!See ya then...

A Classy, Elegant Card... AND I Made it!!!

I normally do fun, loads of color and bright and loud, in your face cards... but look at this one! I think one of my alter personalities got loose!!! anyway... I made this with Paper Makeup stamps and SU Designer Paper. I LOVE this tree stamp and I decided to add these SHIMMERING butterflies to it! They all have rhinestone bodies and are so happy to land on this tree. This is a joy fold card and I used small flat magnets from basic grey to keep it closed. These magnets are a little bit expensive... but totally woth it! I made this card in about 15 minutes... which is CRAZY for me... because my cards usually take like 45 minutes each!!! OBSESS MUCH???

Anyway...some EXCITING NEWS about Paper Makeup Stamps!! There is usually a Super Tuesday Sale each month...but because we are participating in a CLEARANCE event being held by Scrapbooking Roads. The event starts TODAY will run thru the 23rd! With the current economy being what it is, Katie decided to cut you a little break on some prices! (Isn't she fabulous??!) There are items in every category on the site with reduced prices (exception, the PMS copic prices are ALREADY reduced, so they'll remain at $5.50). BUT there is a catch! There is a limited quantity that varies per item. Once that quantity is sold, the price will return to it's normal price. SOOO Shop now to get what ya want... what are ya waiting for??? GOOOO!!!

DRS Monday Challenge...

...was to make a buckle card! Well... of course... I HAD to make mine different. I made a gift card
holder... with a tiny little buckle on the front. I love this sentiment, and the background of chocolate kisses was PERFECT! I thought this would be an awesome way to give a thank you gift card to someone. The die cut is a little quickutz die that I have had forever! It was perfect for this sentiment and just so darn cute! Of course all of the stamps are from DRS and can be purchased mounted or unmounted from them. Check out the awesome selection of stamps and please play along with this challenge and be sure to link up your project to the DRS blog.

Paper Makeup Release Party Challenge #1

The challenge was to use this color combo:
Night of Navy, Rose Red, Brocade Blue. I did this and used this new Fairy... Christi. This was really simple and I loved making this card! It is really tame for me... but I love the look and the colors all together!I colored her with blender pends and chalk and I got a muted, soft look... I used copics for her skin and of course SHIMMERZ for her wings. I cuttlebugged the blue background and used a die cut for the red. This gorgeous ribbon completes the look and the rub on was the perfect sentiment! There is still time to play along with the challenges and you can check them out here!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week, everyone!

If you are coming from Vicki's blog the next stop after me will be... My fantastically talented stamping friend, Heather! For this card, I colored the new golf sentiment with copics and SHIMMERZ for the green. In case you can't see... in the letters there are golfing images... G has grass, O has golf balls, L has flags and F has tees. How cute is that? I used DRS's easy background stamps... grass and stars. I made this card a triple shutter card and inside I used a great golf sentiment... and I really like how this turned out!
I added some ribbon on the final panel that I threaded Through some eyelets. This card was fun to make and I am sure that this will excite any golfer on your card list!!!

High Hopes Stamps,a Color Challenge & Whip it out Wednesdays!

Well... I thought I would start a new idea on Wednesdays
called "Whip it out Wednesdays." I want to Whip out a stamp set or stamps that I have never used or have not used in a long time and make something with them. Don't we all have those stamps that we buy and just don't seem to get around to using. Well, that is what Wednesdays are for! I whipped out these darling stamps from High Hopes. I had 'em in a drawer and here they are... on my card! I used SCS color challenge 221 and this really cute folded flap card. The colors were riding hood red, kiwi kiss and tangerine tango. As much as I loved the in colors this year... I CANNOT wait for the new ones!!! I showed 3 photos so that you could see how cute this card is, it was really easy to make
and I LOVE fun folds, so this was right up my alley!
It was SOOO easy to make this card and do all of the scoring with my awesome Scor-Pal! I used gamsol and faber castel pencils to color these darling images and then I added
SHIMMERZ because... I LOVE that stuff! I tied the card closed with the Kiwi Kiss and Vanilla ribbon from SU.
On the inside of this card, I used this super cute octopus and added SHIMMERZ to him too! For the front flap of the card, I used a SU set from the mini and the scallop oval punch! Love that punch... perfect size for sentiments and makes layering a BREEZE!
I used a pop dot to raise it up and there is my card.
If you want to Whip out any old stamp sets and
show them some love, please link your creation here so we can all oogle it. If this catches on... we can have a Whip it out Wednesday showcase as well! thanks for stopping by and get ready, get set...WHIP IT OUT!

Case That Card PMS Challenge...

For the release party over on the PMS forum, one of the Challenges was to CASE a card from the gallery and use the new stamps to make the card. Well... this is the card that I made and as soon as the person who made it sees this... I think she will be pleased at my homage. The best part is that the fairy is her also... Katie Cotton, my hero! This is the card that I cased... and I know that it is the boss's card (what a way to score points, eh) but I have LOVED the look of her card since I have seen it! I used copic markers to color it in and I thought the fact that I got this much character from grey really speaks volumes about copic markers. I used SHIMMERZ on her wings and pearls as accents. The butterfly in the corner was exactly the right color, and the ribbon matched perfectly as well.I used my nesties to cut out the card base and then also to cut the layers for the cards! Please check out the PMS forum and get ready to play along and link up your cards so that we may see the gorgeous creations! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

DRS SNEAK PEEKS!!! Release Date Will be...

June 13th!!! Yeah... a whole brand new batch of rubber goodness from the fine folks at DRS! I love this latest release because there are some fun... well... cute and ... OHHHH... I am NOT tellin'! BUT... here is one of the new stamps. I love horses and I made this card to look rustic. I think if you changed the colors, you could suit this card for a man or a woman. Versatility is a wonderful things when buying stamps! I embossed the horse with gold detail EP and cut it out with a nestie. Then I stamped the brown paper with the easy background stamp to make it look weathered and rustic.I crinkled up a piece of brown paper and sanded it and inked it to make it look rustic and mounted the horse and the background to it. I mounted the whole thing on brown paper and added the flourishes in the corner and painted them with SHIMMERZ for depth and sparkle. I finished this off with the gold dots on the black paper and here is my card! Please stay tuned to my blog and the other DRS DT members because there will be alot of sneak peeks and beginning the 11th, there will be a blog hop with prizes on Saturday the 13th! Beautiful Bountiful Butterflies...Featuring DRS!

I made this card today using the DRS butterfly stamps (I used number C119 and D117). I said bountiful in my post title because DRS certainly does have tons of butterfly stamps. Main images, ribbon slides, butterfly sayings, butterfly backgrounds and even butterfly card edgers! If you love butterflies, DRS is the place for you!
And I have to give credit to my gal Heather Reppen for this sketch. I totally cased it from her and it worked out awesome for this card! So thanks, Heather... You are awesome!!!
I used my gamsol and colored pencils for the coloring and added gel and glitter pens for the details. I used the bubble easy background for the background dots and I love the dimension that it adds...not to much... just enough! I had this awesome matching ribbon and added dew drops to accent the shape of the circle. For the inside, I used the Butterfly quote from Hans Christian Anderson on the inside. It is one of my favorites and I know that you will love it too! Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope that you enjoyed the bountiful butterflies from DRS and please go and check them out!

Whoever Said "The Lazy Days of Summer" Was a Big Fat Liar!

Swim lessons, ballet,Gymboree and add to that lunch and sleep!!! Yikes... I am busier in the summer than EVER!!! but I love it... and I still make time to stamp! DRS Designs and Paper Makeup both Have Challenges on Monday so here are my cards for them.
For the DRS card, I stamped the vine background on craft paper. Then I stamped the flowers in the corners and I colored them with colored pencils and gamsol and added a little bit of SHIMMERZ to the leaves. I stamped the sentiment and used a nestie to cut it out.
I really love the way this turned out and the other DT members did an awesome job with this Challenge...
Check it out here.
For Paper Makeup's Challenge... we were to use an inspiration card that was a spiral pop up. We could really let our creativity co with this one and use whatever inspired us. I Chose to so the spiral pop up technique and I used Dustin Pikes dino's to do just that! I colored them with Gamsol and colored pencils and added my Fave SHIMMERZ because really... what is a card without SHIMMERZ??? So here is the inside and the outside of that card!!! PHEW!!! Well... I gotta go and get my marathon started... Have a great day Y'all and PLEASE make time to stamp!
