Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge... Sponsored by: DRS!

This week, DRS designs will be sponsoring the Sketch Challenge over at Tuesday Morning Sketches! I LOVE sketch challenges...so this was right up my alley! I used my nesties for the oval shape and I stamped the pea pod twice. I colored the pea pod and cut it out and then I popped it up on the other stamped image for dimension. I used a lace punch for the green paper behind the ovals and added the pretty pink ribbon. For the sentiment, I stamped only part of a sentiment stamp by using a marker to color the part of the stamp I wanted, and then stamping it! I used a nestie label punch for my sentiment and them more ribbon. I added the flowers in the corner and here is my take on the sketch. I am really encouraging you all to play along as we are sponsoring the sketch and there will be a PRIZE!!! So go,click here to get the sketch and then link up your card for a chance to win! Thanks for stopping in!!!

Dylan... By Paper Makeup...(and me of course!)

This little guy is named Dylan and he is available from Paper Makeup! I combined 3 challenges, Color, sketch and
technique. I love how happy this little guy looks. It is so funny... before I had MY little guy... I just bought girl stamps. All the fairies and princesses and all of that. Don't get me wrong... I love it too. But there is a special side to boy type things... and for me, that is knowing I have my OWN special little guy! Keep watching Paper Makeup for some great new things and I will be showing some really fun stuff from them as well... thanks for popping in!

Happy Baby To You!!!

Over at Starving Artist Stamps, one of their own is having a baby! And they want people to welcome her arrival with a card and in the card, include a bay tip to share. Well, mine was nap when the baby naps and let the dishes wait. Babies are only small for a little while and they grow so quickly. The dishes will always be there. My son is almost 7 months old (can you believe that?) and I still have dishes.(LOL). BUT, I have awesome memories of him falling soundly asleep in my arms and me just watching him sleep.AHHHHHH, Pure Bliss! Anyway, here is my card and CONGRATS on that precious bundle of joy! I know that you will love being a mommy as much as I do!

Oh My Goodness... I Made SIMPLE Cards!!!

If ya know me... you know that simple cards are so not me.My cards are usually kind of over the top...a party in the envelope before the party even starts! SO, I thought that I would challenge myself...to make clean and simple cards. To me that means a few embellishments and not alot of clutter on the card... so here are my takes on that idea! For the first card i used my nesties and die cut the 2 shapes. This wonderful sentiment fir in there perfectly and the I added the butterflies. I scored the edges with my scor pal and here it is...

For this next card... I did the same thing... only different. I still die cut 2 shapes and I used another wonderful sentiment and the scor pal.

Only this time I criss crossed the background.

Where they intersected, I added a little pink glitter dot.
I used these Calla Lillie's and then... the pink bow.
So that is my take on clean and simple. I hope that you enjoyed these cards and try to do this yourself. I really enjoyed the challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

Mr Mailman... You are SAFE!!!

My Sweet Pea stamps came. So Mr. Mailman... don't worry... I won't chase you down the street anymore! I made this card using the Shining On stamp that Sweet Pea is offering for the Haiti relief effort. The money raised will go to Doctors Without Borders. I love that! I used my copics to color her in and I used the colors in this weeks copic color challenge. I added some sparkly doo dads to the outside and I got to play with all of my sparkly stuff... so I LOVED that! I am very pleased with the way she came out and I will be coloring more of these! I love coloring images... it is very therapeutic for me and I just let my mind go and create... LOVE that! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Glittery Birthday to YOU... DRS STYLE!!!

I LOVE Birthdays and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Bling! So what could be better than a COMBO of 2 of my faves??? I took the candle stamp from DRS DESIGNS and I inked the top and the sides... and I did this close to the top of the page of paper. I did this on several scraps of colored paper. Then I cut out the candles. I cut the flames out after I colored them with copic markers. I adhered the candles to a card and Then I added the flames later. I drew the wick to connect the flame to the candle. then I used my FAVE stickles to the tops of the candles for glitz and bling!!! I added the sentiment and here is my fun and BLINGY card! Enjoy!

It All Started When My Husband Got This Calendar...l

So... My hubby comes home from work with this calendar and proclaims"Look at this calendar Hon, it has all these days on it..." and I said..."A calendar??? With DAYS on it??? How novel!" He meant... with crazy, random days. What a smarty pants I am... anyway... today's day is Spunky Old Broad's day... and take a look at these 3...I would say they fit the bill. They are a stamp from Art Impressions and I colored them with Copic markers and gel and glitters pens for the details. I added this pretty bow and here is my simple but SPUNKY card. Keep your eyes peeled to see what other days come up from this crazy calendar! thanks for stopping in!!!

Copic Color Challenge...and ART IMPRESSIONS

I love this little cupid from ART IMPRESSIONS. He looks so determined to get the love match made! I used the color inspiration from the copic color challenge and I used SCS sketch challenge number 211. I punched out the hearts with a SU punch and then I cuttlebugged them for texture and added some darling bows that I made MYSELF (believe it or not) with the Bow Easy.Trust me, I CANNOT tie bows without using it. They are available at my friend's store... so check them out... worth every penny in my opinion! So anyway... I LOVE the way this turned out... not your typical Valentine' Day colors... but with Cupid and the hearts... I think you get the idea!!! Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check back as I will have another post today featuring my DRS 3 d item...You won't want to miss that!

Paper Makeup's Melody in 2 Challenges!

I used Paper Makeup's Melody in the Die Cuts R Us sketch challenge and the copic color challenge. I LOVE this little fairy and the birdie that she is singing to is so sweet! This color combo made me feel very springy so I got out the flower soft and the butterflies and away we went! I added the calla lilies around the oval frame and then I used the butterfly die cuts to fill in and make the oval that was shown in the sketch that can be seen here. I love doing challenges and I have over 200 copic markers... so I am always looking to pout them to good use and the copic color challenge lets me do just that! I LOVE to color and going to copic certification really helped me learn how to use the colors that compliment and contrast to make the best of the markers and the images that I am working with! I used Shimmerz on her wings and on some of the butterflies
for the embossed areas. Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a wonderful butterfly filled day!
