I am trying to get it back...

...but i keep forgetting where I put IT!!! Whew... things are JUST starting to settle down and I have been a bad blogger! I am setting January as my deadline to get my rear in gear! After my hiatus with the arrival of my gorgeous son and the death of my precious mother...I am JUST starting to get a feel of my new normal! So I came across this oldie... but goodie and the sentiment really hit home with me and I wanted to share it with y'all. Instead of wallowing in sadness.... i am giving thanks and being grateful... well, trying at least!(LOL)...

AND... i STILL want to be a part of the SCS blogger group... can someone please let me know who i am missing and I will start leaving comments and love as everyone has been so generous with the kind words for me. Thanks so much and God Bless...

Some Really Fun ART IMPRESSIONS Cards...

These Art Impressions Cards make me laugh! The images are so fun and these Golden Oldies are precious. I used all copic markers to color them in and various bling and other fun goodies to decorate them! This is my first blog post since My Mothers Passing and I needed something FUN! I am getting inspired again and I thank you all, dear friends, for the kindness and encouragement ... y'all are priceless! Thanks and Stay tuned... i am getting my groove back!

With a Sad and Heavy Heart...

As many of you know...My precious mother has been gravely ill. It is with a very heavy heart that I must inform you that My Dear Mother has passed away. She entered into the loving hands of our heavenly Father on September 18th... one hour after I saw her and introduced her to her new grandson Jacob.

She was truly an amazing woman who will be missed and lived a life like no other always keeping family,friends and the needs of others in her heart and mind. She was a servant of the Lord and I feel some sort of peace knowing that she is home and no longer in pain.

I, however, have lost my true north...my guide...my cheerleader, my confidant, my shining example and the best mother and friend anyone could have ever wanted.She always told me the right thing to do... and I did it... if not for me but to make her proud. Her family was first... always... and she was the most kind, caring and compassionate person ever. If you knew her... you were truly made better just by being her friend.

I ache for her and I can only hope that one day... this ache will be less as I know it will never go away.It causes my physical pain to know that I will never hug or kiss this dear woman again. She is gone and there is no more.She has taken a piece of my heart and my mourning is intense and overwhelming.

Thank you to all of my true friends that have been there for me and for all of the kind words and prayers.

I leave you all with this reading that has brought me some comfort knowing that others are rejoicing and she will be met with love...

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side,spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and startsfor the blue ocean.

She is an object of beauty and strength.

I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speckof white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone"

Gone where?Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast,hull and spar as she was when she left my side.

And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.

Her diminished size is in me -- not in her.

And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone,"there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voicesready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!"And that is dying...

It looks as if she stepped into a Photo booth to snap some pictures of herself all decked out in her holiday finery! I am showcasing some cards that I have had made and have not shown on my blog yet for one reason or another because my life is totally crazy right now. Paper Makeup New Release Sneak Peeks!

This is one of the new Paper Makeup Moody Girls... MUSIC. I love the style that she is drawn in and the anime look is something I really like. If you like to color as much as I do then these are great stamps for you! I used my copic markers to color her in and added highlights with my glitter pens and white gel pen. Next, I punched out stars in the matching colors and ... well ... I had to glitter them up too!

Paper Makeup Monday Inspiration Challenge

Our Challenge was to make a card based on a cake from this website.

I chose this cake and this stamp... the Tooth Fairy...from Paper Makeup. I Love how this turned out and I tried to incorporate all of the elements from the cake to make this card. i love how the card looks and making the grid on the bottom of the card was so simple with my Scor-Pal... I have no idea how the cake people did it! I used stickles, liquid pearls and of course... SHIMMERZ! The little paper flowers on the card are my new favorite embellishment and I am really enjoying using them!

Yehaw Y'all!

I love horses. I love everything about them... I don't even mind cleaning stalls...they just make my soul happy. When I got this awesome stamp form DRS... I was so happy and I said out loud (to no one...) "WOW, they did it again!" Meaning... DRS came up with a new batch of wonderful stamps and this one tops my favorites list! For the first card, I used this gorgeous horse head stamp and stamped it in the same color ink as the paper for a subtle background effect. I added my most favorite saying and used ink to distress the edges of the paper. ( This saying is great for graduation cards too!)
Then I punched out the little flowers and added a little bit of bling for the center, and that was it! Simple... but I really love the look of the horses "running" in the background.

For this next card, I used the horse stamp also. This time I embossed it in gold on black paper for a more dramatic effect. When I used my die to cut the shape, I thought that this really looked like a wanted poster! I mounted the black onto a piece of brown that I stamped with an easy background stamp to make it look like weathered wood. Then I tore and distressed another paper to mount that on. Last was the brown matt and the scrolls in the corner for a little flair. I really love how these cards came out and how I can make two totally different cards with the same awesome stamp! It makes my creativity and my stamping dollars really stretch!

I just love this card!

And I had to share it with you all! I am still trying to catch up since the arrival of our son and as soon as my Daughter goes to school... I think I will be able to do just that! I came across this card in my folder and I wanted to share how pretty it was! it is by paper Makeup and this was one of the first images that I bought! I just love the image and the color combo and of course the Shimmerz on the wings! DRS Monday Challenge... Diorama Cards...

This card was made for the challenge over at the DRS Blog. It was to make a diorama card... they look tricky... but they are really easy to do and they get lots of ooohhs and aaahhs!

I used several shades of purple and the inner layer is pink. I used a nestie to make the opening and had to add some bling in the corners! I used the 3 flowers with butterfly stamp and cut the flowers out and added them to the pink layer.I painted them with SHIMMERZ and I thought the gem in the middle was just the right touch!I stamped the flower silhouette in the background and added the sentiment. For the front panel, I stamped the branch silhouette background stamp. If you would like to play along with the challenge... we would love to have you do that!
