Mothers and Daughters Sketch Challenge Card

I wanted to let everyone know that we will be hosting challenges over at Mothers and Daughters Creations (MDC) and any one is welcome to play along. This week it was a sketch Challenge and here is the sketch and my card that I made for it. If you would like to play along, please link your creations to the MDC Challenge Blog... we would love to see it! Now on to the card...
It was a fun sketch to do... I used a piece of 5 x 10 cardstock and folded it in half for the base. I cut the patterned paper for the background just a little shy of 5 x 5 so there would be a white border. Then I punched the scallop squares and the smaller squares and layered them after sponging them around the edges with some brown ink. Next I stamped my bee hive image
and colored it with copic markers, gel pens and of
course, glitter pens. I assembled the entire layout,
added my dots and such and here it is! I hope you will get inspired to play along with this weeks sketch and show us at MDC your card as well! Thanks for stopping by!

My Darling Winter Princess...

... and my 100th post! Hooray!!! This is another darling

Princess Anya card from the Pink Poison 12 Cards of Christmas Challenge! My Dainty 4 year old Diva said,"Mommy, is that me?" It DOES look like her. She has gorgeous brunette hair to her waist... So, yes, my Darling Dainty Diva... it IS you!

I Stamped this image and colored it with copic markers. Then I stamped the dress on the blue dotted paper , cut it out and adhered it to the first image and paper pieced her dress. I used a piece of vellum for the background and I punched and decorated the snowflakes with dots and glitter and I mounted them on some silver starburst punches. I tore 3 pieces of white cardstock and inked the edges in blue to make my Princess look like she was in the snow directing the the snowflakes with her glittery fairy wand! I love this card... blue is ANOTHER favorite color of mine and I also love this princess who does look like Dainty Diva Knight.

And I got some WONDERFUL NEWS! All of my hard work did not go to waste. I WON THE CHALLENGE AT PINK POISON!!! and I won all of the new releases. Click HERE to see all of the new releases that will be coming January 1st! they are gorgeous, stamp perfectly and are really affordable... WILLOW

I love this faeire... her name is Willow.
I used opal Shimmerz on her wings and key lime Shimmerz on her outfit. I colored the image with copics first and then I got her good and glittery with the Shimmerz. I have just started using this product and I don't know how I ever lived without it!
It is perfect for these gorgeous faeries from my friend Susana's store... be careful... she has some gorgeous stuff!!!

I mounted the image on black paper and then the yellow corners and the patterned paper last. Then I mounted that whole stack onto the pale yellow. I used some die cuts for the corner and here she is... If you click on this image you will be able to see the flower wreath encircling her! I colored that with my trusty glitter pens (I love those things!)I had to add my dots and that pretty much does it for this Willow card. Hope you love it and have a happy, shiny, Shimmerz-y Saturday!

I Wonder What She is Thinking???

The last time I snuggled a mushroom, I was thinking about... WAIT A MINUTE... I NEVER snuggled any mushroom!!!

This Gorgeous little Faerie is from my friend Susana's store. She has so many of them ans they are STUNNING! They are easy to stamp, easy to store (no wood... just use an acrylic block) and easy to afford!

I colored this little gal with my copics, glitter pens and of course, gel pens. I used December Sky BLINGZ on her wings. I have not yet figured out how to get a good photo of that part... but I WILL!

In the background, I added some soft clouds and here she is! Check out Susana's store for all of the fun stamps and other accessories that we stampers just cannot live without! That is all for today as my little Diva has a dentists appointment, ballet and school... and I am her TAXI! (LOL)

Peace on Earth from Astronaut Ian

OH YEAH! another card from the 12 days of Christmas Challenge over at Pink Poison. This is one of the new Ians... Astronaut Ian... sooo cute! I love this little guy! He looks really cute with the big blob of crystal effects that I used for his helmet... it is super shiny and looks like glass... too cool!

I came up with the design idea and concept for this card myself... out of my own little pea pickin' head! I must add that I was quite proud of myself! I stamped the background with DRS Designs easy star background and inked the edges of the black with a silver encore pad. I cut a small white circle and made the Earth with copic markers and a little silver around that as well. I stamped the sentiment on sparkly paper and added some red sparkly dots to it for some more shimmer. Easy peasy! Go and get some of these stamps! They are gorgeous... super affordable and fun to make all kinds of cards with! Thanks for stopping by!

Anya Elf Snowglobe Shaker Card

So we all know that I CANNOT resist a challenge (or a dare for that matter )and over at Pink Poison there was a great one! Use the Anya and Ian stamps to do the 12 days of Christmas. Well not only did I get them ALL done...I finished on day 8! It was a Christmas MIRACLE! This was also for the Challenge over at Mothers and Daughters Creations to make a Christmas card that was shaped...and since my 4 year old is OBSESSED with snowglobes, this is my creation.

I colored Elf Anya with copic markers and did the background with clouds and even some grass... but the "snow" is covering it. Then I cut out 2 ovals, for the front and back and an oval window in the front. I attached acetate, used double sided sticky foam tape to raise the front from the back, added the "snow" and that was it! I used the largest Labels 1 Nesties and folded it in half for the base. A few dots here and there and some glittery snowflakes and here she is!

Girls, check out these awesome website and their delish stamps and papers. I promise you... you WILL make your Christmas lists even longer!

My Ornament for the DRS Challenge!

I made this Moravian star and then stamped the star (from DRS) colored it with copics, punched it out and added it to the star
with some string. I of course had to use glitter (what is an ornament without glitter) and here it is. You can find the super easy directions to make these stars here.
My husband and I were in Gatlinburg about 7 years ago and we went into this charming little store and there was this super nice gentleman who spent like AN HOUR teaching me how to make these things! He was so patient! He said that he and his mother used to make these for Christmas. Well, I never forgot him or the ornament... so I thought I would share it with you all. I hope that you will try to make some of these... it is not hard even thought it may look that way... Try it...You can wow your friends with how cool you are!(LOL) if you want to play along with the challenge... please do so and link your ornament to our blog! We would love to see your work!

Ladies... LETS PAR-TAY!!! (Properly, of course!)

Love this stamp, Love these ladies... Love parties!!!These gals look like they are ready to pary... properly, of course!
I got this in a huge grab bag of stamps on e bay for like $12. I got well over 100 stamps and this was one of them! Lucky me! I stamped the image in Adirondack black ink and used water colors and copics to color them in! I used the marble texture cube from Stampendous for the background with white craft ink. Some dots, a few circle and scallop punches later... and viola... lets PARTY!!! I like how well the ribbon coordinated with the color scheme and if you click on this card... you will see all of the glittery details like the earrings and jewelry that they are wearing! I of course used my glitter pens for that... and gel pens for the dots!
My little one got up this morning at 5:30 and has been at full tilt all day... so this post will be short... but I still hope you will get inspiration from it! Thanks for stopping by!

Good Rosey Rooster to ya!

WHAT???!!! I made this card a little while ago and have not posted it yet. I LOVE the Impression Obsession stamps and Leigh Hannan is my favorite artist over there! I have been looking at these stamps on line and just could NOT justify (to my hubby at least) why I NEEDED them. Well, I am luck enough to live by the best stamp store in North Carolina... Stampers Alley... and she had them for 30% off... and no shipping!!! No time to justify... I had to SHOP!
I embossed this Rooster in detail gold embossing powder and then I set to coloring him in! I used SU ink and a water color brush and here is my result. I thought the background paper was perfect and the scrolls and dots look like a marquis in New Orleans (to me at least). I am not sure if there is a Rosey Rooster Holiday... but if there is ... have I got THE card for it!!!

Love Love LOVING These Fairies!

I am so loving these darling Fairies and my Shimmerz and Twinkling H2O's (twinks)... I CANT STAND IT!!! I did this little Fairy with copic markers in lavender and light green and then I went over her with Shimmerz and twinks. I had to add some grass and clouds and to me she looks like she lighted in a meadow to take a rest from flying! I of course had to add stickles around the borders and all of my dots... Then I added the flowers in the corner on pop dots. They are from prima and they came in the cutest tin!!!( I think that is why i bought them!) I had not used them in a while because I was saving them for something special... and this little gal is IT!

Please take a look at my friend Susanna's store and get your hands on some of these little darlings! She has the prettiest stamps and the prices are awesome!!! It is fun to get the package too because she adds a little goodie... I LOVE GOODIES!!! So why are you still reading??? GO and get some yummy stamps... and show her what you have done with them!!! And me too...I would love to see your fairy creations as well...

It's THAT time of year!

Gift cards are SOOOO popular... Leave it to some clever

stampers to figure out how to decorate them! I have seen this idea all over the place at SCS... but this is the tutorial I followed... the directions were so easy to follow that I am giving credit the instructions that I used. I did this GCH (gift card holder) for a challenge over at Mothers and Daughters Creations. It was so much fun to make and my new Whiff of Joy Herb Snowman stamp fit PERFECTLY on the front! I was able to make the GCH in about 10 minutes... but then coloring my image and decorating it was what took the time!!! But getting lost in coloring and decorating is where I find my peace and my center... I get REALLY relaxed and zen-like. How lucky I am to have this wonderful outlet!

The picture does not show all of the FUN things I used! I used my new Twinkling h20's and SHIMMERZ!( Click on the Shimerz link to check out their sale on SHIMMERZ!) My friend Kisa is right... this stuff rocks! I also used liquid applique
and glitter pens. For the inside, I punched 3 Snowflakes and got out the trusty stickles, cu that's how I roll. Now go and make some of these! They are easy to do and they beat standing in the mall shaking your head figuring out what to get people... and this way...YOU GET TO STAMP!!! Have a good one... and stay away from the mauls... I mean MALLS!!!

Confessions of a Challenge-aholic!

OOHHH... I just love 'em! I did this card using
There She Goes rubber stamps for a challenge
over at my friend Jessica's blog... also called There She Goes. It was to make a card and pretty up the inside to match the pretty outside... so here is my take on this fun challenge. I used the Branching Out set and after I stamped the image of the tree... I stamped the image of the envelope "branches." Next, I stamped the envelopes onto different colored paper and cut all of them out... Then I adhered them to the tree. I added the clouds and the ground, matted the tree and adhered it to the front. The I added the word and the envelope... and now for the inside...
I did more clouds and the ground... added the darling kitty from the Spooky Silhouettes set and
added the envelope swirl... and finally the rest of the sentiment. I usually make very VERY ornate cards with tons of sparkle and dots and ribbon and anything else I can glue on them... so this card was so "clean" and simple for me... and know what? I LOVE IT! And I love these stamps... they stamp so clean and crisp and the image comes out great the first time! HOW AWESOME IS THAT??? So check out Jessica's blog and webstore... she has some really nice and different stamp sets... have a great day... and send someone some love!!!

I LOVE POISON!!!

Pink Poison that is! To tell ya the truth... I don't even know how I stumbled across these darling stamps... but I am SOOOO glad that I did! This is yet another card made with the Anya stamp... this time she is a mermaid!
I colored the image with copic markers and of course my glitter pens... a mermaid NEEDS glitter! OH YEAH... and I added PEARLS to her hair!!! YUMMY! I cut an oval in the aqua colored paper and added pop dots to the back to raise it up from the purple. I cut seaweed looking pieces of green paper and covered them with stickles (more glitter!) and arranged them to look ocean-y! Then I found these darling seashell buttons and added them as well. I adhered my darling mermaid to the aqua paper and then added pop dots to the back of her hair so she would remain level .I added crystal effects to the bottom of the card and up the sides and then put micro beads for more texture...whew! Last, but not least, the sentiment... and there she is. Check out Pink Poison's web store and blog for other darling ideas... Her stamps are just delish and I can't get enough! Enjoy!!!

DRS Postage Frame FUN!!!

We are having a challenge over at the DRS blog on ways to use the postage frame stamps other than the intended purpose (Stamp it on an envelope, and
add postage.) Well, here is what I came up with!

I stamped postage frame onto white card stock and colored it with
copic markers and of course , glitter pens. Then I took a small photo of the most gorgeous child ever (my darling AVA) and adhered it in place. After that, I took my Xyron and laminated the whole thing and added magnets to the back of it. I adhered DSP to some chipboard and cut it out with my new nesties label dies. I added magnets to this as well so that the photo will stay in place and then can be removed later and stuck onto Mimi's fridge at home so she may gaze upon my lovely child's face!!!

On a piece of kraft paper, I used the DRS branch stamp to add some texture to the background, and I used my favorite sentiment on another nesite die cut. Then after alot of dots with my gel pens and tons of sponging... here is my
creation! I hope that you will take a peek at the blog and play along if you would like. We would love it if you did... please link your project to the page so we can see your creation as well. thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Snowmen and Bunnies?!? What could be cuter???

I made this card for the challenge over at High Hopes.
It was to use buttons AND brads on the same card! I don't have any of these stamps... but I used what I had... this is a cube from STAMPENDOUS. I knew I had to have it because the "cute factor" was off the charts!!!
I stamped the images onto a piece of glittery card stock. Then I colored the images with my copics and added stickles and liquid applique to the bunny's hats. I went over the snowflakes with my glitter pens for added sparkle and then I punched the images out. I arranged them on the blue card stock and then again on pink card stock. I used the SU scallop edge punch on the pink and slapped the whole creation on snowflake paper. Next, to complete all of the elements of the challenge, i punched out 3 star bursts and added the snowflake buttons to them with glue dots. I added the gems to the middle of the buttons and of course white dots to the edge of the star bursts. This card just makes my day when I look at it and I hope that you will enjoy it as well! Thanks for stopping by and keep your eyes open for "cuteness off the charts!"

A Snowy Day in "My Town"

Well... this looks like my hometown of Buffalo, NY and I know you are thinking, "No way... Buffalo gets WAY more snow than that..."

True... sometimes... BUT it is really pretty at Christmas! There is an area of Buffalo near the zoo and the homes are so pretty... I had that area in mine when I made this card.
I used the MS fence punch, covered it with liquid applique. I colored all of the buildings with copic markers and I added liquid applique to the roof tops and crystal effects to the windows for some shine. I of course, had to add glitter to EVERYTHING by way of stickles and then I used the scallop edge punch for the pink and
green paper at the top! Some dots with a gel pen
and some dots and glitter and there you have it! A snowy day in beautiful down town Buffalo! I love living in the south and I don't miss the snow...(OK, Maybe for Christmas!) It is nice to be able to create snow when you want it and still run to the store in a sweater! Have a great day filled with thoughts of home!

ANOTHER 3-D item??? What is going on here???

(Be sure to click on this picture to see the detail)

Well, here is another 3-D creation from me for a Challenge. Darn these challenges...they are just so...so... CHALLENGING! This one was from Mothers and Daughters Creations and the challenge was to make a Thanksgiving table decor. UGHHH!!! What to do... what to do???

I did not want to do the usual so I had to cook this one for a while and come up with an idea that would be unusual... like me! So I made table name place cards... with a twist! I included 2 pieces of paper and a tiny pencil for the guest to write down 2 things they are thankful for and to
put them in the Happy Thanksgiving box before the meal begins. Then, during dessert, I thought it would be a great time for Daddy to read them and we can reflect on our Blessings!I really LOVE this idea (if I do say so myself, right)and I know it will be a wonderful way to thank our Heavenly Father for all of our blessings... seen and unseen. I hope you will try this idea and add a little bit of gratitude to your meal as well!

My ornament for the challenge!

I am good at cards... I have a hard time with 3-d items and "not cards." There was this challenge over at Sassy cards and scraps to make an ornament for a 6 weeks of inspiration challenge... (I am a HUGE challenge NUT!) So ... here is what I came up with! Everyone knows what a sweetie my Hubby is... He said, "HON, You had better show a picture of the stamp you used or people will think you BOUGHT it!" (AWWW!!!)
So here is the skinny... I bought a glazed ceramic ornament and I used stazon ink. I stamped the image and I colored with with copic markers. Since they are alcohol based, they did some funky stuff on the ornament and the color was not even... but I LOVED the result. Then I used the glitter pens and gel pens to add sparkle and to add the 80 billion dots. Next, I dotted stickles on the background for snow... I mean, he is a snowman, lets put him in his element... right! I had to add the date to keep track of my addiction (for the record)
and added a ribbon to hang it up,
here is my finished product... I added a photo to indulge
my darling! I hope you like it... and I encourage you all to do this... so not hard and they would make lovely gift tags! Don't forget the date!!!

OH YEAH!!! My Man ROCKS!!!

So there is this Challenge over at Pink Poison Stamps, Mr. Stamper, right? The gist is that your fave guy (my hubby)
gets to make a card all by himself... with no help from me! Well, when he was stamping... and he was doing great... it was SOOOO hard for me!!! He was in control of my stamping stuff ...ARRGHHH!!!
He chose this blue paper, since his favorite color is blue, and he did the bird in blue water colors. I told him how to mask for the grass and then how to use the cloud template. He used the paper cutter, the Creative Memory circle templates, the embossing buddy, EP and the heat gun. He also used a water color brush,my ATG and the glitter pens! Y'all... I could not be any prouder than I am right now! I told him that I really wanted to do this with him, and first my motive was the free set of stamps... but we had a great time together and when we looked at the card this morning... he was really happy with it and said he may like to do it again! Be jealous, ladies... I hit the Husband Jackpot with this wonderful man!!!

Glitter, Glitter EVERYWHERE!!!

There were these 2 challenges... and I am a SUCKER for a good challenge... so I did them,BOTH... on one card! The High Hopes Challenge was "Sparkle-mania"... I could totally get behind that... and Sweet -n- Sassy's was snowflakes... so here we have a "Sparkle-mania" of Snowflakes... how totally cool!!!

I cued the cuttlebug to emboss the glittery cardstock on the top of the card and then I sponged the sides and added stickles and gel pens ALL over it! Then I used my scallop edge punch to make the blue border in the middle of the card that all of my snowflakes are adhered to. Next was the SU wheel, "snow" and I added Glitter with spica pens, glitter pens, stickles and gel pen dots all over that. WHEW! I used my MS edge punch for the snowflake edge and a MS snowflake punch for the blue snowflake. I glittered and stickled that and here is my card! It is Fun, Fancy and Full of Frosting!!! I truly believe that if some is good... MORE is better! Have a great day and don't forget to embellish!

Lovin' me some Tilda's!

This is a Magnolia Stamp and I LOVE THEM!!! It was a really easy card to make and pretty straight forward. I used the cuttlebug for the yellow paper and the CM oval cutter for the ovals. I used the gamsol magic technique and I used crystal effects in the middle of the flower! At the bottom edge of the card I used some decorative ribbon that I have had for years and It was PERFECT for this little gal! And then I had to add my dots with gel and glitter pens... So there she is and here are a few more with the gamsol technique... Enjoy!

Prepare for Utter Cuteness!!!

Oh My GOODNESS!!! How adorable is this little gal? I got her from Pink Poison Stamps. They are affordable, they stamp perfectly and, how amazingly and utterly precious is this stamp? I ordered them and got them in the mail so quickly... I just knew she needed to be stamped ASAP!

I did her for the sketch challenge over at Mothers and Daughters Creations. I LOVE challenges... so I decided to play along... and their challenges are so much fun... I just can't stop!

I used a corner rounder to do the corners of the cardstock and the card base. I used the gamsol and colored pencil technique... (Love that look!) I used the cuttlebug for the blue and orange paper, I thought they looked like waves and bubbles! I followed the sketch and for the circle part, I layered orange and white cardstock and a flower charm with a brad. I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I do... I just have to smile when I look at her! Check out Pink Poison and Mothers and Daughters Challenges...and remember to always Have FUN

OH... LOOK WHAT I MADE!!! ( and how many!)

This is what I started with... and this is what I got!!! 10 super fun and sparkly Christmas cards!

There is a challenge over at Sassy Cards N Scraps... 6 weeks of Santa workshop inspiration. We were to take 2 pieces of cardstock and 2 pieces of patterned paper and make as many cards as we could out of them! I challenged myself even further to make these cards without STAMPING!!! How can that be, you say??? well, i did used some precious rub ons and of course punches, and where would I be without stickles and gel pens???

These cards were a blast to make and I love how
they turned out! If you need some inspiration...
Check out the challenges there... it was really fun

to do and i suggest (as they did on the challenge site) to use double sided paper for more options...

I am glad i played along, and now I have 10 Christmas cards out of the way... only like 60 more to go! Thanks for popping by!!!

PINK... For Christmas???

I LOVE this image from DRS Designs and this little snow person was just BEGGIN" to be PINK!!! I stamped the image once, colored the hearts with copic makers and then I put crystal effects on them to make them shiny and lovely. I Pierced holes in the hearts and strung them with wire and adhered them with a pop dot to make them pop up. While I was waiting for the crystal effects to dry... I colored the snowman with copics and then added the background for him. On the pink paper I used the Creative Memories snowflake punch to decorate the background. Ever the recycler (is that a word?) I used some of the pink punched from the snowflakes to adhere to the sky to look like pink snow! I OF COURSE had to use stickles for some bling! When this was all put together, the finishing touch was the dots with the gel pen and the glitter pen. I hope that you enjoyed this card. I am using it for a challenge over at High Hopes Stamps, so i hope they like it too! Have a great day and don't always color your grass green!!!

A Holiday Window!

First... sorry it has been a while since I have posted. I was trying to not let the sniffles I had turn into a cold... so that meant coma inducing cold medicine. The sniffles are gone and I am feeling good... so back to the stamping... YEAH!!!
I made this card using all DRS Design stamps. I stamped the image of the pine needle branch and ornaments onto a piece of white cardstock and colored it with copics. Then I took a piece of black paper and punched 6 squares in it to make it look like a window. I adhered a piece of acetate on the back for the "glass." I ran the red paper through the cuttlebug to make it look like siding on a house. I used the coveted MS Drippy goo punch to make the "snow"on the roof. I then added the sentiment, also from DRS Designs and punched it out and used a pop dot to raise it up. And there you go... This is also for the challenge over at Mothers and daughters creations. I LOVE doing challenges... and if you do, Check out the DRS Designs blog for their challenges as well as Mothers and Daughters Creations. Have a "Windowful" Day everyone... (LOL how lame was that!!!)

Pumpkin Patch!

I made this stair step card for the technique Lovers Challenge over at SCS. This was a fun one! I Embossed some paper on the cuttlebug and adhered it to the different steps of the card for texture. I inked over the embossed paper for some pop and to show off the embossing. Then I stamped the Corn stalk images from DRS Designs and cut them out, I sponged the sunset colors of them to make it look like night falling in the pumpkin patch. I stamped the pumpkins and squash, colored them with copics and cut them out! Then I adhered them onto the "steps" of this card. I stamped the saying and punched it with the new SU punch and added the gold dots with the gel pen. So there it is... a pretty impressive looking card and it was super easy!

My family went to the pumpkin patch on Sunday
and I was inspired... and Autumn is my
FAVORITE season! I am so glad the leaves change colors so that I can get my inspiration!
God is GOOD!!! So... go outside... look at the gorgeous colors HE has created and get inspired...and enjoy Autumn!!!

DRS Designs Challenge Monday!

This time it is a sketch! Go to the DRS Designs blog and check it out! I used on of the easy backgrounds (the small flowers) to make the "patterned paper" and I colored the flowers with copic markers and dotted the center of each with a silver gel pen.(I love that I can make any color patterned paper with the easy backgrounds from DRS. Be sure to check them out!) I stamped this sentiment, one of my favorites, and then mounted it on the green paper. I added the primas as a fun embellishment and held them together with a flower brad in matching colors. To tie all of my dots together... I added the green dotted ribbon at the bottom.

I hope that you will check out the DRS Design blog and play along with the challenge. There is no time limit and you can use any stamps you have! Be sure to leave a link to your card on the blog, or here and please upload to splitcoaststampers.com using the keyword DRSC7. Thanks for looking and playing along! Have a Happy Monday!

Shimmery Fall Card Challenge

I made this card for a challenge over at Mothers and Daughters creations! We were asked to make a Shimmery fall card. We could used anything for the shimmer and I chose Twinkling H2o's. These are shimmery water color cakes that you mist with water to activate them, and they are GORGEOUS! They come in a huge variety of colors and are easy to use because you don't have to worry about them spilling...and with a 4 year old darling at home, I worry about EVERYTHING spilling!!!(LOL)
I stamped the leaf and pumpkin images with versamark and embossed them with a gold glitter EP. Then, I colored them with a water color brush and the Twinkling H2O's. The gold EP is soooo pretty and I hate that you can't see it here... it looks like a hologram because when different light hits it, it changes color... and it had a slight amount of glitter! What could be better!!!
I cut out the leaves and the pumpkin and arranged them in a pleasing manner on the front of the card. Next I punched the black and yellow card stock and stamped the sentiment on it.I had to add more sparkles and shimmers on the scallop circles with glitter pens! I pierced the edge around the card and then I adhered it to the black and then put the whole thing on the card front. For the finishing touch, I tied a piece of organdy ribbon around the card and there it is... My shimmery fall card! I hope you enjoyed this card and I hope you are enjoying fall and all of the shimmer and sparkle in a crisp fall afternoon!

Simply... yet ELEGANT!

Oh how I love the cards that fit that description! Easy enough to make alot of them... yet beautiful enough to get the "wow" factor from friends and family! (LOL!)
I used the snowflake wreath design from DRS Designs and embossed it with white detail EP. LOVE the way it showed off the ... Well, DETAILS in the snowflakes! I guess they named it the right thing, huh? The I embossed the sentiment in the detail white as well... cuz, why reinvent the wheel???If it worked... go with it, I say! Next I got out the trusty Cuttlebug and cut the snowflakes and the corner accents. I used the bow ribbon slide from DRS and colored it with COPIC markers. Then, I put crystal effects all over the whole thing and let it dry over night. I cut it out and added the red polka dot ribbon just for some pizazz!
I love how this came out and I have got to say that this is one of my FAVORITE stamps from DRS... AND... if you are dreaming of a white Christmas and live in the South as I do... this is a great way to see some snow! Y'all have a great night and thanks for stopping by!

Some Fun Halloween Treats!

I made these fun treats for the DRS Designs Challenge blog a while ago and I never posted it to my blog... I would just HATE for y'all to miss out on anything I have done!(LOL)
I used the pumpkin ribbon slide from DRS Designs and colored with with copic markers. I punched holes in the middle of the ribbon slide stamp where indicated (you could also use a craft knife and cut the slits out as well.) I added the ribbon and tied it into a knot. I used the SU scallop circle punch for the black part and then I used another SU circle punch to punch out the pumpkin. I layered them together and then adhered them to the lolly pop. I put foam oasis in the terra cotta pot and arranged the lollies in there. I added some ribbon on the pot and there it is! these were fun to make and SUPER easy... just in case you need to make a bunch for the trick or treaters or all the little goblins at preschool! I hope you enjoyed this simple project and will make some of these fun treats yourself!

Warm Wollen Mittens and Warm Wishes too!

Another fun card with all of the stamped images from DRS Designs! I stamped the mittens, added crystal effects and fun flock flocking powder! I let that dry over night and then the next morning(because I HATE not finishing something I have started...) I used my trusty and SUPER FUN liquid applique to make the mitten cuffs fluffy! This liquid applique is a blast to play with and a must have for Christmas...Santa beards, hot cocoa foam, mitten cuffs, stocking cuffs and SNOW!!! So easy to use... just apply a THIN layer of it onto the area that you want to look puffy and then heat it with the heat gun. Be careful not to get to close... It can singe.
For the edge of this card, I used the Martha Stewart snowflake embossing and punching edger. The I used the gel pens and glitter pens for the zing around the edge. I used my scallop oval punches for the sentiment and spiced them up with gel and glitter pens as well. Thanks for looking... AND...keep your hands warm (all the better to stamps with!)

"The stockings were hung...

...by the chimney with care!" And i should know, I was the one that hung them! this super fun card features DRS Designs stamps. I stamped the fireplace on white cardstock and colored it in with copic markers. I added stickles for the flames on the logs and on the candles. I cut out the image and adhered it to the River Rock CS from SU. Before I adhered the fireplace, I stamped the easy star background from DRS.

I stamped 3 little stockings and water colored them in. Then I used liquid applique for the cuff and used the heat tool to puff them up! They look so fluffy and they are ready to be filled with Christmas treats. I cut them out as well and used a pop dot to adhere them to the fireplace, with care of course, and then i added a little tiny gem to make it look like a nail.

I stamped the sentiment from DRS as well and mounted it underneath the fireplace. It is on there straight in real life, but the photo makes it look a little wonky. I hope you will take a look at the easy backgrounds from DRS as the are FOOL PROOF! That is a lifesaver for me! (lol)Thanks for looking and stay tuned for all of my Christmas cards from DRS...

I LOVE a good Challenge...or two!!!

I made this card for the challenge posted over at Mothers and Daughters creations. They used a mug as the inspiration piece and I chose to use the colors for inspiration and also the bird. I knew right away what colors to pick and how I was going to do this challenge. It was really fun to choose WHAT I wanted to use as my inspiration and I love the way this card came out. I don't know if you can see it, but I embossed some flowery stemmy things on the black card stock to match the gold paper I used in other areas of the card.
I also used a sketch challenge from Splitcoaststampers.com. It was challenge number 68. I love the challenges as they give you an idea and then you get to be creative and do things they way you are inspired by the guidelines!
So that's it... it was a "challenging"day for me and I hope you will get inspired to do some of the challenges found out there in cyberspace and see what you can create!

Polyshrink Suspension Card...

That title sounds so technical... but it could aslo be called a Shrinky Dink Hangy Downy card,also... but since not everyone speaks "Dawn-ese"... I went for the technical! I stamped the snowman (number H858) from DRS Designs on white polyshrink plastic with Stazon Ink. That is the best ink that I know of for this type of plastic because it resists smudging and well... it STAYS ON... and right where you put it! Then I colored them in with copic markers, cut them out and punched a hole so that I could hang this little guy up. I used the new easy snowflake background from DRS Designs (number H015) onto the blue cardstock for some zip and added the sponging for depth around the edges.
I layered the card stock, punched the holes, hung up my snowmen and layered MORE cardstock. Then I stamped the sentiment from DRS Designs ( Number H858) with versamark and embossed it with frosty glittery EP. I added some glittery dots around the edges and in the corners and here it is! I started out with a WHOLE DIFFERENT idea for today's post using this stamp... and this is what evolved... and I LOVE it! I hope you will too! Check out the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers.com and see what you can come up with. Thanks for looking and keep in mind, there are no mistakes... only HAPPY ACCIDENTS!!!

DRS Snow Family Shaker Card!

I LOVE glitter and sparkly thing! I LOVE cards that do stuff... So this combo was PERFECT!!! I stamped the snow family design from DRS Designs and used my copics to color it in. I sponged the clouds on in the background. I used snowflake stickers in the background and then I also added glitter and bling on the snow family with my glitter pens...(another personal fave!)
Next, I cut the circle opening, stamped snowflakes from DRS in the background and added the acetate so all of my delicious goodies will stay in there to make the snow family happy!
I have a snowflake punch that I am SURE you will all be sick of seeing by the time winter is over. I punched out a few snowflakes and added yet MORE glitter on them and added them to the card as well. I LOVE HOW THIS CAME OUT!!! I will admit... I LOVE snowmen and I stamp them EVERY chance I get. Be sure to check out DRS Designs assortment of WONDERFUL snowmen! You will love the versatility of the designs and what you can do with them! Hope you all have a glittery day!
