A Holiday Window!

First... sorry it has been a while since I have posted. I was trying to not let the sniffles I had turn into a cold... so that meant coma inducing cold medicine. The sniffles are gone and I am feeling good... so back to the stamping... YEAH!!!
I made this card using all DRS Design stamps. I stamped the image of the pine needle branch and ornaments onto a piece of white cardstock and colored it with copics. Then I took a piece of black paper and punched 6 squares in it to make it look like a window. I adhered a piece of acetate on the back for the "glass." I ran the red paper through the cuttlebug to make it look like siding on a house. I used the coveted MS Drippy goo punch to make the "snow"on the roof. I then added the sentiment, also from DRS Designs and punched it out and used a pop dot to raise it up. And there you go... This is also for the challenge over at Mothers and daughters creations. I LOVE doing challenges... and if you do, Check out the DRS Designs blog for their challenges as well as Mothers and Daughters Creations. Have a "Windowful" Day everyone... (LOL how lame was that!!!)

Pumpkin Patch!

I made this stair step card for the technique Lovers Challenge over at SCS. This was a fun one! I Embossed some paper on the cuttlebug and adhered it to the different steps of the card for texture. I inked over the embossed paper for some pop and to show off the embossing. Then I stamped the Corn stalk images from DRS Designs and cut them out, I sponged the sunset colors of them to make it look like night falling in the pumpkin patch. I stamped the pumpkins and squash, colored them with copics and cut them out! Then I adhered them onto the "steps" of this card. I stamped the saying and punched it with the new SU punch and added the gold dots with the gel pen. So there it is... a pretty impressive looking card and it was super easy!

My family went to the pumpkin patch on Sunday
and I was inspired... and Autumn is my
FAVORITE season! I am so glad the leaves change colors so that I can get my inspiration!
God is GOOD!!! So... go outside... look at the gorgeous colors HE has created and get inspired...and enjoy Autumn!!!

DRS Designs Challenge Monday!

This time it is a sketch! Go to the DRS Designs blog and check it out! I used on of the easy backgrounds (the small flowers) to make the "patterned paper" and I colored the flowers with copic markers and dotted the center of each with a silver gel pen.(I love that I can make any color patterned paper with the easy backgrounds from DRS. Be sure to check them out!) I stamped this sentiment, one of my favorites, and then mounted it on the green paper. I added the primas as a fun embellishment and held them together with a flower brad in matching colors. To tie all of my dots together... I added the green dotted ribbon at the bottom.

I hope that you will check out the DRS Design blog and play along with the challenge. There is no time limit and you can use any stamps you have! Be sure to leave a link to your card on the blog, or here and please upload to splitcoaststampers.com using the keyword DRSC7. Thanks for looking and playing along! Have a Happy Monday!

Shimmery Fall Card Challenge

I made this card for a challenge over at Mothers and Daughters creations! We were asked to make a Shimmery fall card. We could used anything for the shimmer and I chose Twinkling H2o's. These are shimmery water color cakes that you mist with water to activate them, and they are GORGEOUS! They come in a huge variety of colors and are easy to use because you don't have to worry about them spilling...and with a 4 year old darling at home, I worry about EVERYTHING spilling!!!(LOL)
I stamped the leaf and pumpkin images with versamark and embossed them with a gold glitter EP. Then, I colored them with a water color brush and the Twinkling H2O's. The gold EP is soooo pretty and I hate that you can't see it here... it looks like a hologram because when different light hits it, it changes color... and it had a slight amount of glitter! What could be better!!!
I cut out the leaves and the pumpkin and arranged them in a pleasing manner on the front of the card. Next I punched the black and yellow card stock and stamped the sentiment on it.I had to add more sparkles and shimmers on the scallop circles with glitter pens! I pierced the edge around the card and then I adhered it to the black and then put the whole thing on the card front. For the finishing touch, I tied a piece of organdy ribbon around the card and there it is... My shimmery fall card! I hope you enjoyed this card and I hope you are enjoying fall and all of the shimmer and sparkle in a crisp fall afternoon!

Simply... yet ELEGANT!

Oh how I love the cards that fit that description! Easy enough to make alot of them... yet beautiful enough to get the "wow" factor from friends and family! (LOL!)
I used the snowflake wreath design from DRS Designs and embossed it with white detail EP. LOVE the way it showed off the ... Well, DETAILS in the snowflakes! I guess they named it the right thing, huh? The I embossed the sentiment in the detail white as well... cuz, why reinvent the wheel???If it worked... go with it, I say! Next I got out the trusty Cuttlebug and cut the snowflakes and the corner accents. I used the bow ribbon slide from DRS and colored it with COPIC markers. Then, I put crystal effects all over the whole thing and let it dry over night. I cut it out and added the red polka dot ribbon just for some pizazz!
I love how this came out and I have got to say that this is one of my FAVORITE stamps from DRS... AND... if you are dreaming of a white Christmas and live in the South as I do... this is a great way to see some snow! Y'all have a great night and thanks for stopping by!

Some Fun Halloween Treats!

I made these fun treats for the DRS Designs Challenge blog a while ago and I never posted it to my blog... I would just HATE for y'all to miss out on anything I have done!(LOL)
I used the pumpkin ribbon slide from DRS Designs and colored with with copic markers. I punched holes in the middle of the ribbon slide stamp where indicated (you could also use a craft knife and cut the slits out as well.) I added the ribbon and tied it into a knot. I used the SU scallop circle punch for the black part and then I used another SU circle punch to punch out the pumpkin. I layered them together and then adhered them to the lolly pop. I put foam oasis in the terra cotta pot and arranged the lollies in there. I added some ribbon on the pot and there it is! these were fun to make and SUPER easy... just in case you need to make a bunch for the trick or treaters or all the little goblins at preschool! I hope you enjoyed this simple project and will make some of these fun treats yourself!

Warm Wollen Mittens and Warm Wishes too!

Another fun card with all of the stamped images from DRS Designs! I stamped the mittens, added crystal effects and fun flock flocking powder! I let that dry over night and then the next morning(because I HATE not finishing something I have started...) I used my trusty and SUPER FUN liquid applique to make the mitten cuffs fluffy! This liquid applique is a blast to play with and a must have for Christmas...Santa beards, hot cocoa foam, mitten cuffs, stocking cuffs and SNOW!!! So easy to use... just apply a THIN layer of it onto the area that you want to look puffy and then heat it with the heat gun. Be careful not to get to close... It can singe.
For the edge of this card, I used the Martha Stewart snowflake embossing and punching edger. The I used the gel pens and glitter pens for the zing around the edge. I used my scallop oval punches for the sentiment and spiced them up with gel and glitter pens as well. Thanks for looking... AND...keep your hands warm (all the better to stamps with!)

"The stockings were hung...

...by the chimney with care!" And i should know, I was the one that hung them! this super fun card features DRS Designs stamps. I stamped the fireplace on white cardstock and colored it in with copic markers. I added stickles for the flames on the logs and on the candles. I cut out the image and adhered it to the River Rock CS from SU. Before I adhered the fireplace, I stamped the easy star background from DRS.

I stamped 3 little stockings and water colored them in. Then I used liquid applique for the cuff and used the heat tool to puff them up! They look so fluffy and they are ready to be filled with Christmas treats. I cut them out as well and used a pop dot to adhere them to the fireplace, with care of course, and then i added a little tiny gem to make it look like a nail.

I stamped the sentiment from DRS as well and mounted it underneath the fireplace. It is on there straight in real life, but the photo makes it look a little wonky. I hope you will take a look at the easy backgrounds from DRS as the are FOOL PROOF! That is a lifesaver for me! (lol)Thanks for looking and stay tuned for all of my Christmas cards from DRS...

I LOVE a good Challenge...or two!!!

I made this card for the challenge posted over at Mothers and Daughters creations. They used a mug as the inspiration piece and I chose to use the colors for inspiration and also the bird. I knew right away what colors to pick and how I was going to do this challenge. It was really fun to choose WHAT I wanted to use as my inspiration and I love the way this card came out. I don't know if you can see it, but I embossed some flowery stemmy things on the black card stock to match the gold paper I used in other areas of the card.
I also used a sketch challenge from Splitcoaststampers.com. It was challenge number 68. I love the challenges as they give you an idea and then you get to be creative and do things they way you are inspired by the guidelines!
So that's it... it was a "challenging"day for me and I hope you will get inspired to do some of the challenges found out there in cyberspace and see what you can create!

Polyshrink Suspension Card...

That title sounds so technical... but it could aslo be called a Shrinky Dink Hangy Downy card,also... but since not everyone speaks "Dawn-ese"... I went for the technical! I stamped the snowman (number H858) from DRS Designs on white polyshrink plastic with Stazon Ink. That is the best ink that I know of for this type of plastic because it resists smudging and well... it STAYS ON... and right where you put it! Then I colored them in with copic markers, cut them out and punched a hole so that I could hang this little guy up. I used the new easy snowflake background from DRS Designs (number H015) onto the blue cardstock for some zip and added the sponging for depth around the edges.
I layered the card stock, punched the holes, hung up my snowmen and layered MORE cardstock. Then I stamped the sentiment from DRS Designs ( Number H858) with versamark and embossed it with frosty glittery EP. I added some glittery dots around the edges and in the corners and here it is! I started out with a WHOLE DIFFERENT idea for today's post using this stamp... and this is what evolved... and I LOVE it! I hope you will too! Check out the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers.com and see what you can come up with. Thanks for looking and keep in mind, there are no mistakes... only HAPPY ACCIDENTS!!!

DRS Snow Family Shaker Card!

I LOVE glitter and sparkly thing! I LOVE cards that do stuff... So this combo was PERFECT!!! I stamped the snow family design from DRS Designs and used my copics to color it in. I sponged the clouds on in the background. I used snowflake stickers in the background and then I also added glitter and bling on the snow family with my glitter pens...(another personal fave!)
Next, I cut the circle opening, stamped snowflakes from DRS in the background and added the acetate so all of my delicious goodies will stay in there to make the snow family happy!
I have a snowflake punch that I am SURE you will all be sick of seeing by the time winter is over. I punched out a few snowflakes and added yet MORE glitter on them and added them to the card as well. I LOVE HOW THIS CAME OUT!!! I will admit... I LOVE snowmen and I stamp them EVERY chance I get. Be sure to check out DRS Designs assortment of WONDERFUL snowmen! You will love the versatility of the designs and what you can do with them! Hope you all have a glittery day!

DRS Design Challenge #6

I made this card for the team that I design with,DRS Designs. The challenge was to make a card with a sentiment as the focal point of the card. I LOVE this sentiment as Autumn is my favorite season. I stamped the leaves with the easy background on watercolor paper and then I watercolored them in. I used a scallop edge punch for the sides and punched out the leaves from some cardstock. I adhered two of them and then I popped one of them up. I sponged the egdes of the cardstock ,added some dots for texture and put it all together.
I really encourage you to check out the DRSDesigns blog and play along with the challenge. If you do, please upload a link so we can see your creations! Also, upload to www.splitcoaststampers.com with the keyword DRSC6. thanks for visiting and have a great day filled with all of the colors of Autumn!

Coaster and Brown Bag Treat Holder

I made this little treat bag from 2 4 x 4 coasters and a small bag. This is SOOO easy to do and they are quick so you can make alot of them...

I took 2 4 x 4 coasters and put a 4 x 4 square of black card stock on the front. Then I matted the front with yellow and orange paper to match my design and my treat also! I stamped the image from DRS Designs and colored it with copics and glitter pens. I cut the bottom edge with the SU scallop edge punch and stamped the candy corn from DRS Designs aslo. I added the dots with embossing gel pens and a white gel pen.

I cut the brown bag down to 4 x 4 and adhered the coasters to the front and back of the bag. Next I got my handy dandy crop-a-dile, punched the holes and added eyelets and ribbon for the handles. I added some stickles and punched out 2 pumpkins with the Martha Stewart punch and added them
to the bag as well. This was made for a Challenge over at
Mothers and Daughters Creations. I hope you play along... this
was fun to do and I am sure it will come in handy for the upcoming holidays!

A little wine ... a LOT of embellishments!!!

OK... so I NEVER drink and drive... but drink and stamp??? That is something totally different!!! I had a glass of wine while I was stamping and my creativity went a little bit overboard!!! I must have had my embellishment goggles on as well... because I went a touch overboard in the embellishment department!!! But... overall...

I think they came out pretty good. The stamps on the top card are from INKADINKADO. I love the look on the frogs face... and if we all just BELIEVE... well, ya never know...

The image on the bottom card is from Viva Las Vegas Stamps. There was a grab bag on Ebay for like $12... how could I say no... I got a HUGE variety of ALL types of stamps and this chick was in there. I love all kinds of stamps and that is totally what I got. If you need a certain stamp and think you will never find it... go there... I am willing to bet they will have it. Some of the stamps are not for the faint of heart... let's just say they have something for everyone! I hope you enjoyed my cards for wacky wino Thursday! Have a great night and a glass or 2 of vino...then go and stamp... don't forget the embellishments!!!

DRS Thanksgiving card and my darling Ava's 4th Birthday...

I love this image from DRS Designs. I knew it was going to call for copic markers, crystal effects and some sponging...so I kept everything else pretty simple.I used SU cardstock and designer series paper, and for fun... a little bit of ribbon!

DRS Designs have some really GORGEOUS stamps for Thanksgiving and for the Christmas holiday season! They also have some completely darling snowmen stamps! I am a sucker for snowmen... so wait and see if you don't become one too when I am done creating my cards with all of them!!!

Well... thanks so much for looking at my card. I have SO MUCH to be thankful for already! It was my darling Ava's 4th birthday today and my darling Momma was able to make the trip to be here to celebrate with us!We have been so very blessed!!! I just felt like a Thanksgiving card was what my blog needed today! Thanks for stopping by...

Aloha!!!!

I have had this little stamp for a while and this paper was BEGGING for it!!! I used a sketch challenge from Mothers and Daughters Creations Challenge blog and got out my new SU designer paper and came up with this little beauty! I love love LOVE the color combo... ( I just followed the colors from the paper) and the sketch was pretty easy to follow. After I stamped the image and colored it with copics, I added the sky and the beach. I colored her outfit and her lei with markers and glitter pens. Then I got out the gel pens and the prima flowers and embellished the daylights out of this card!!! I also love that the image looks like a tattoo!
The ribbon colors match the designer paper colors and the whole thing just kinda works! I had NO idea what I was going to come up with... but this little wahine showed me the way! I hope you enjoy this card as much as I did... ALOHA, Y'all!

Witchy Bella Keeps Poppin 'up!!!

I could not RESIST the Challenge over at Mother and Daughter Creations blog... to make a card that moved or popped up. I KNEW I had to bust out my Bella, my glitter pens and some Halloweenie spangles and show them what I've got!!!
I made a free standing pop up card and have included the two photos of it... one popped up and one closed. Tis was a wonderful tutorial over at splitcoaststampers.com. It was super easy to make and really fun to embellish and color in! The best part is ... it folda FLAT for mailing! How fun to make and send a little Halloween greeting that stands up for itself!(LOL!)
I love stamping and making cards...but the ones that move and pop up just have that extra WOW factor! Hope you enjoy this card!!! Check out the tutorial and see how easy it is to create one of these for yourself!!!

Halloween Pumpkins in the Moonlight!

I made this small card using the All Hallow's Eve stamp set from Inkadinkado. It was really easy and inspired by Zindorf... the goddess of everything brayered! I did use my sponges for the background and the sky...I stamped the pumpkins and colored them with copics. I embossed them with clear embossing powder. Then I sponged the background with greens and blues... and a little bit of black in the sky. I embossed the spider webs with black embossing powder and highlighted them with glitter pens. I highlighted the pumpkins and the vines with silver pen and then I added the moon! This was super easy and fun to make! Break out the sponges ladies... and get creative! they are fun and YOU WILL get your fingers dirty!!!

Gimmie some SUGAR NELLIES!!!

I have had these Sugar Nellie stamps for a while and was never inspired to use them... UNTIL... Sweet and Sassy Stamps put out a design team call... so I busted them out! I made 3 cards with the three stamps that I had and had a great time using these little guys! To me, they called for soft colors, patterned paper and lots of razzle dazzle by way of stickles, glitter pens and embossing pens!
I also added the clouds and the grass softly in the background so he would not look like he was floating in mid air...(I always have to remember that!!!) I got carried away with my edge punches and had a great time doing it! I just let my creativity go and here is where I wound up!!! I am pretty happy with the way this little guy and his buddy turned out! I am glad i got him out of the drawer...so My message for today is CHECK YOUR DRAWERS... You never know who you might find in there!!!(LOL)
