I want her HAIR for my Birthday!!!

Yeah... it's my birthday. I want two things... cake and this little fairy's hair! I got these sparkles back in New York when I was home for Christmas and I had no occasion to use them until The Greeting Farm came out with these Darling Fairies! I LOVE fairies and this one needed to be blue... and she needed sparkle hair! I can always tell when I made the card or project "cool" because The Petite Diva will just LOVE LOVE LOVE it! This card was no exception! Petite Diva... like her mama can be mesmerized with shiny, sparkly things!!! I used gamsol and faber castel colored pencils to color the fairy, SHIMMERZ on her wings and then the sparkles for her hair as mentioned. I then festooned her fairyland with ribbon and felt flowers and added the sentiment with an SU rub on and viola... my card du jour... Hope you love it! And y'all can send cake...I never met cake that I did not like!

I adhered it to this shape that I made from my new nesties and then I popped the whole thing up. I cuttlebugged the background to make it look like a jungle so that this sentiment would fit perfectly with it and it sure does! PMS Monday Challenge... Sketch Challenge, That is!

I did this card for the sketch Challenge over at Paper Makeup stamps. I LOVE this monster... Dreck... or is he an alien? Anyway, here he is and I just love him! I used the sketch on the PMS blog to create this card. Please check it out and know that you can play along with any of our challenges! Just use the handy dandy Mr. Linky to link up your creation! Then, on Sunday before the new challenge is issued... we do a SUNDAY SHOWOFF and feature the cards that were linked up! Cool, huh?
I colored Dreck with copic markers and I used crystal effects for his eyeball... I did that before too... I think it looks so real that way!(LOL) Then I cut the 3 circles and inked them up and adhered them together. For the purple strip, I painted it with SHIMMERZ and then punched the lacy edge... monsters can have a soft side too!I tied the ribbon at the top and added the sentiment to the lower right side with a rub on... maybe that is how you DO say hello where Dreck is from. At least he is a polite monster (or is he an alien?)Please Check out the PMS blog and be sure to play along with the challenge! Thanks for stopping by!

Uhhh.... YEAH it Was A Lot of Coloring! (but worth it!)

I got both of these stamps (the fairy and the castle) from Faeiry Art Stamps. They were on sale and I CANNOT resist a good sale! So I bought them and then I stuffed them in a drawer. Well, I needed to break them out and do something wonderful with them and here is what I did! i colored everything with my copics and I added SHIMMERZ ALL over the place!I cut out the Fairy and popped her up with foam dots for dimension. I cut out the castle and mounted it on black, and then onto the green... but the green was lacking something! I KNOW... EMBOSSING! I got out my favorite swirl stamp and embossed it with gold EP and then I mounted my castle and fairy onto it. MUCH BETTER! I used my gel and glitter pens for highlights and detail. Let me tell you... this was A LOT of coloring and cutting... but well worth it! I love the way this turned out and it was really fun to do. My last name is Knight... so the castle and fairy thing really does it for me! I hope this one inspires you to get out the stamps that you shoed in a drawer and never did anything with! Look what I came up with!

I bout this 6 x 6 basic grey paper pack and HAD to bust it out last night to make this card. I colored her with copics and Used SHIMMERZ in her hair. I added details with gel and glitter pens... and then I used my punches for the swirls. I added the sentiment at the bottom with a SU rub on that I had laying around the craft room and here is my creation! And let me just tell ya how much I love my nesties! These things ROCK! I feel like I MUST own everyone that they come out with! I know I must be keeping them in business! I got these at Paper Makeup and I just love how quick the shipping was! Then I painted SHIMMERZ paint on the clouds. I used gel and glitter pens for the extra detail. I used this Yummy paper from Basic Grey and I added buttons on his hat. The stars I punched out with SU punches. I cut out Jashen and the background with my nesties... my FAVE cutting tool out there! I popped up the image and some of the stars and here is my card! please make sure that you stop by Paper Makeup and see the other gorgeous Fairy's they have and keep watching Paper Makeup because there are more good things to come from them! Slow and Steady Wins My Heart!

I made this card with DRS Designs new release Shelldon the turtle! I love his sweet little smile and the hearts on his shell just make me happy! I colored him using my copic markers and then I did the hearts with SHIMMERZ and the dots with gel pens. This sentiment is from DRS as well and i thought it looked perfect on this card! I would love to use it for a bookmark as well... It can be difficult finding vertical stamps... but not when you look for them at DRS! I thought this one was perfect! The flowers are from my LSS and they are from a company called Petaloo. They are paper and come with the rhinestones in the middle already! And they are really affordable! That is the best part! Thanks for stopping by and have a terrific day!

Paper Makeup Color Challenge...AND I Got To Pick The Colors!

I made this card for the color challenge over at Paper Makeup that was held on Monday... But wait...it is Wednesday you say! Now problem... you have all week to upload your card to the Paper Makeup blog and play along! I chose the colors Cameo Coral, Summer Sun, Old Olive and Kraft. This is the card that I came up with. When I was going through my stash, I found some ribbon that went along perfectly and i added them to the 3 panels in the back for fun! I used my new nestie flowers to really show the colors I chose. After I stenciled them I chose matching SHIMMERZ and added that to them to make them pop! And POP they do!!! I thought that Birthday Fairy Lauren really went well with these colors and here is my finished card! Please make sure you stop by Paper Makeup and play along with this challenge! Check out the other gorgeous Fairies... You WILL LOVE THEM! Thanks for stopping by!

Hurry Up and Make a Card??? Help me DRS!!!

I made this card using all DRS stamps and I found it in my files. I think I forgot to show y'all this one and that is too bad... BECAUSE IT IS AWESOME! Why is it awesome??? Because it is a quick one to make? Why so quick??? OK... in case ya didn't know... DRS has these awesome ribbon slides and you can do so many things with them I I stamped this one, embossed it,cut it out, painted it with SHIMMERZ and put it on some ribbon and presto... a quick and easy way to spruce up your cards and your ribbon. If you are not good at tying bows, DRS did it for you! As for the Heart frame... stamped it, embossed it and punched it with my mega and giga punches. Done... just like that! The LOVE Hearts were stamped, embossed, cut and adhered... SOOO Quick! The corner punch I had laying around the house and the punch really dresses up the front as well! So there you have it... DRS can simplify your life... QUICKLY! Hurry up and have a good one!

Ballet on Horseback??? NO PROBLEM!

A really REALLY long time ago... I went to the circus and saw a ballerina on a horse. "How hard could that be?" my 7 year old self thought. Fast Forward...I started riding again when I was 32 and trust me... I was just glad to STAY ON THE DARN ANIMAL... let alone do anything like this!!! This is my tribute to people who risk their necks for my enjoyment.

I made this super fun card using stamps from The Greeting Farm. I used Ballerina Anya and the horse from McSplendid Farm. I colored the horse and the ballerina with my copic markers and I of course added SHIMMERZ to them for the sparkle. I used my new nesties that I found at Paper Makeup for the pink glitter paper and the SU top note for the shape in back. I added some fun white dots with a gel pen for detail and the pretty delicate organza ribbon is another touch that really adds to the card.
Thanks for popping by and remember... if you see someone riding a horse like this and it looks easy... then they are doing it RIGHT!

A DRS Fun Fold Butterfly Card and some FUN news!

I made this super fun card using a fun folding technique called a stair step card. It is SOOO easy to do... just a couple of scores here and there and presto... a really fun card that firs into an A2 envelope! I love how springy this looks and it seems to me the butterflies are just exploding from it! How fun would this be to get in the mail?
All of the stamps used are from DRS Designs. The butterfly was colored by sponging directly on the rubber from the ink pad. I cut them out and put them aside. For the background, I used 2 backgrounds, the swirls and the leaves. I stamped them in red and orange. I love how when

I was finished with this card, I noticed that it was
monochromatic, and I was not even trying for that! I stamped the frame for the sentiment on black and then I added my sentiment. This was a quick card and I love the result!

Now for the news...I saw a blog post this morning that I just couldn't wait to share. As I was checking out all of my favorite blogs this morning I saw that Dustin Pike is going to be releasing his first ever rubber stamps (he currently has a etsy store filled with adorable digi stamps). I was thrilled to hear this but then it got even better...Dustin's stamps are being released by DRS Designs!!!!!! I absolutely love Dustin's images and I can't wait to get my hands on these! To see a sneak peak of the images check out Dustin's blog HERE. While you're there take a look around. He has some awesome free digi downloads. Also check out his etsy store. You will be able to see sneak peaks on the DRS blog in the coming weeks. I can't wait! Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Too many Treats, Grumble Bear?

I have had that same look on my face before... the "I can't believe I ate the whole thing" look! Poor guy! I made this card for the Monday Challenge over at Paper Makeup Stamps. The challenge was a pretty easy one... it was to use ribbon in your card... well... I have enough ribbon to go 'round the globe... AND it is one of my FAVE embellishments... so this was a fun one for me! I stamped and colored Grumble Bear... I used my copics. Then I added some shine and sparkle to him with SHIMMERZ. I cut out the circles and sponged the edges of them for depth. They gave me some where to perch my stuffed buddy bear! I tied the ribbon and here he is! Please play along with the challenge and lets see what you can do with your ribbon! I love doing these challenges and Paper Makeup will have one every Monday... If you can't make this week... try to play along next week as it will be a color challenge... OH YEAH... and it is MY challenge!!!Thanks for stopping by!

Wacky Wednesday at Rubbernecker

I made this card for Wacky Wednesday Challenge over at Rubbernecker Stamps. The challenge was to use pink and purple in you card. I chose this stamp from Stamp Oasis to use. I colored her with copic markers, glitter pens, SHIMMERZ and pearl-ex.I really like the way this came out!I added this sentiment from Stampin up. It is a rub on and I thought it was perfect for this image. She looks like she is reflecting and has someone on her mind! For her eyeshadow, I used purple pearl-ex. I got it to stick by coloring her eyelid with a versamark pen first. I put crystal effects on her lips for shine. I cut the image out and layered it on the pink, purple and dark blue paper. I thought that the dark blue really enhanced the colors. If you get a chance and want a fun Challenge, Stop over at the Rubbernecker blog and take a look at the wacky Wednesday challenge and play along! It's FUN!!! And that is what stamping is all about! Thanks for stopping by!

Can't Get Enough of these Little Piggies!

These adorable little piggies are more darling images from the DRS Designs new releases! How darling are they?I stamped them on pink paper and cut them out. I colored their teeth with white gel pens... and I added some Shimmerz to their little piggie noses! I arranged them around the opening in the front of the card so they would loook like they were peeking out.I stamped the background with this supercute easy background with flowers and I colored the center with pink! I stamped the sentiment and matted it with black!

For the insideof the card, I used the Happy Birthday
easy background stamp and added it all over the place before I arranged the piggies. This stamp is wonderful and versitile because you can ink the whole thing and use it like I did, or you can use a marker and choose which Happy Birthday you would like! From the front, they look like they are peeking out and fron the inside, they look like they are jumping for joy for your birthday! Thanks for stopping by and I hope the piggies will be jumping for you!

Hippity Hoppity, Easter is on it's Way!

This is one of the newest releases from DRS. This little chick stamp is so sweet and if you like to color like I do, this is one for you! I used gamsol and pencils to color the image and then I added SHIMMERZ to the egg. I think it looks like a foiled egg... ya know... the chocolate ones?I cuttlebugged the background and sponged it so that the texture would show(one of my favorite tricks) and then I cut the image out with my nesties. I used pop dots to pop up the image and then i tied the ribbon. The flowers on this card were bought at Michael's in the bride section. I got like a zillion of them in a little bucket for $4.I painted SHIMMERZ on them as well and added the rhinestones in the middle for a little sparkle! I hope that when you are making your Easter cards, you will think of DRS and check them out for all of your stamping needs!
