DRS Designs New Release Is Ready To GO!

I saw this sentiment and I KNEW that I HAD to have it. I had the idea to use arrows as soon as I saw it.

So, today while strolling the aisles of the big box craft store... what do I find??? And on CLEARENCE, no less??? ARROW STICKERS!!! How totally perfect! I layered all of the matching cardstock in 1/4 in increments and then on the white panel, I stamped the sentiment and then I added the epoxy stickers.Quick, easy and sure to brighten someone's day during a challenging time! Simple Sympathy Cards

OK... if you follow my blog or even know me a little... you will know that SIMPLE is not a word I use... I am unfamiliar with what it means. Blingy, over the top and embellished to the max... that I know! I made these simple sympathy cards using sentiments from DRS. I LOVE the really huge assortment of sympathy stamps they have available. This is never an easy card to make because usually the person getting the card is sad.But, when I lost my beloved Father... these cards meant the world to me...

I embossed the background on the pink one and them I used my nesties to cut out the shapes,added the sentiment tied the ribbon, added the rose and that was it.

For this one... I used the lily corner on Kraft

paper with versamark.Then again with the

nesties and the sentiment.I really like the way these came out and I would love for you all to go and check out DRS stamps and you will see the wonderful variety of sentiments for cards just like these! I LOVE a good Challenge...or two!!!

I made this card for the challenge posted over at Mothers and Daughters creations.They used a mug as the inspiration piece and I chose to use the colors for inspiration and also the bird. I knew right away what colors to pick and how I was going to do this challenge. It was really fun to choose WHAT I wanted to use as my inspiration and I love the way this card came out. I don't know if you can see it, but I embossed some flowery stemmy things on the black card stock to match the gold paper I used in other areas of the card.

I also used a sketch challenge from Splitcoaststampers.com. It was challenge number 68. I love the challenges as they give you an idea and then you get to be creative and do things they way you are inspired by the guidelines!

So that's it... it was a "challenging"day for me and I hope you will get inspired to do some of the challenges found out there in cyberspace and see what you can create!

DRS Design Challenge #6

I made this card for the team that I design with,DRS Designs. The challenge was to make a card with a sentiment as the focal point of the card. I LOVE this sentiment as Autumn is my favorite season. I stamped the leaves with the easy background on watercolor paper and then I watercolored them in. I used a scallop edge punch for the sides and punched out the leaves from some cardstock. I adhered two of them and then I popped one of them up. I sponged the egdes of the cardstock ,added some dots for texture and put it all together.

Coaster and Brown Bag Treat Holder

I made this little treat bag from 2 4 x 4 coasters and a small bag. This is SOOO easy to do and they are quick so you can make alot of them...



I took 2 4 x 4 coasters and put a 4 x 4 square of black card stock on the front. Then I matted the front with yellow and orange paper to match my design and my treat also! I stamped the image from DRS Designs and colored it with copics and glitter pens. I cut the bottom edge with the SU scallop edge punch and stamped the candy corn from DRS Designs aslo. I added the dots with embossing gel pens and a white gel pen.

I cut the brown bag down to 4 x 4 and adhered the coasters to the front and back of the bag. Next I got my handy dandy crop-a-dile, punched the holes and added eyelets and ribbon for the handles. I added some stickles and punched out 2 pumpkins with the Martha Stewart punch and added them
to the bag as well. This was made for a Challenge over at
Mothers and Daughters Creations. I hope you play along... this
was fun to do and I am sure it will come in handy for the upcoming holidays!

A little wine ... a LOT of embellishments!!!

OK... so I NEVER drink and drive... but drink and stamp??? That is something totally different!!! I had a glass of wine while I was stamping and my creativity went a little bit overboard!!! I must have had my embellishment goggles on as well... because I went a touch overboard in the embellishment department!!! But... overall...









I think they came out pretty good. The stamps on the top card are from INKADINKADO. I love the look on the frogs face... and if we all just BELIEVE... well, ya never know...

The image on the bottom card is from Viva Las Vegas Stamps. There was a grab bag on Ebay for like $12... how could I say no... I got a HUGE variety of ALL types of stamps and this chick was in there. I love all kinds of stamps and that is totally what I got. If you need a certain stamp and think you will never find it... go there... I am willing to bet they will have it. Some of the stamps are not for the faint of heart... let's just say they have something for everyone! I hope you enjoyed my cards for wacky wino Thursday! Aloha!!!!

I have had this little stamp for a while and this paper was BEGGING for it!!! I used a sketch challenge from Mothers and Daughters Creations Challenge blog and got out my new SU designer paper and came up with this little beauty! I love love LOVE the color combo... ( I just followed the colors from the paper) and the sketch was pretty easy to follow. After I stamped the image and colored it with copics, I added the sky and the beach. I colored her outfit and her lei with markers and glitter pens. Then I got out the gel pens and the prima flowers and embellished the daylights out of this card!!! I also love that the image looks like a tattoo!

The ribbon colors match the designer paper colors and the whole thing just kinda works! I had NO idea what I was going to come up with... but this little wahine showed me the way! I hope you enjoy this card as much as I did... ALOHA, Y'all!

DRS Challenge:Bag Topper and Matching Gift Box Tutorial

Well, Here is it... MY FIRST EVER TUTORIAL!!! Please leave some feedback for me and let me know what y'all think... here we go!

These are the supplies I started with. SU cardstock, a plain paper bag and box from the craft store .The bag is 8 x 10 inches and the topper is 9 x 6 inches...

After I cut the 9 x 6 paper, I folded it in half and laid it on the bag to see where it would look right... then I measured in 2.5 inches from the right and 2.5 inches from the left. I put a dot at each measurement to get ready to cut the slot for the handles.

I cut down 1/4 inch at each dot and then connected the two cuts with my paper cutter. This will allow the handles of the bag to fit through the slot.Next, I randomly stamped the pumpkin image from DRS all over the front of the bag topper
Then, I cut two ovals with my nesties in coordination colors,

stamped my sentiment on the yellow one and used my embossing and glitter pens to decorate the ovals.

I got out my trusty crop-a-dile and set copper eyelets in the front and back of the topper to allow a place for ribbon to be tied! Here, I used large copper eyelets.
I inked the edges of the box with orange ink so when my paper is on the box, it will blend in and match a little bit better. I also think it looks more finished this way! I ran the paper for the sides through the cuttlebug and inked the design with orange ink to show off the embossing on the paper.
I stamped this gorgeous image from DRS on the front panel and colored it with chalks... I LOVE this image and how Fall like it is! I can smell the turkey roasting and the cider mulling!!!

AND... here it is! I hope you like it! This is SOOOO simple to make and this way I don't have to used tissue paper in the gift bag.(I NEVER can make it look right!) I really like how the box and bag coordinate and I think this will make a lovely gift to present to your Thanksgiving hostess or anyone you are thankful for! Think how darling this would look for Christmas as well! Enjoy your day!

This card is pretty straight forward. I cut squares and mounted them on green cardstock to accent the patterned paper. I stamped the images on them and colored them with copics. For texture and fun , I added crystal effects in the drink part of the image. I highlighted the straw,the stirrers, the umbrella and the bubbles in the champagne with glitter pens. I used my cuttlebug to cut out the ribbon slide and punched out the circle. I used a marker to ink the word "cheers" and put that in the circle.

This was a really simple card that was quick and fun to make. I love the look of the crystal effects... it makes the drinks look shiny and wet...REFRESHING!!! And as for the glitter... well... what can I say??? That is the best part! Thanks for looking and may your champagne ALWAYS be bubbly!

A raondom stamp,10 minutes to myself and copic markers

I have no earthly idea where I even GOT this stamp from, but I loved the "retro" look of it AND I know it was on sale! I used my Copic markers to color the ornaments in, and added some extra dots to it just to make the wreath fuller. Then I colored the bow, added some glitter with a glitter pen and mounted this on mulberry paper with gold and silver foil bits in it. I mounted all of that on SU brushed silver cardstock and added the little gems in the corner. I LOVE how this came out AND the fact it was super easy to make! I need to get a jump on my Christmas cards as it is not THAT far away!
