The Sweetest Turtles EVER!!!

DRS Designs is having another new release! This little turtle is part of it! How sweet is this little guy? I cut 3 panels of green and mounted them on black. I stamped the sentiment on one of the panels and then I adhered all of the panels onto the green paper. I stamped 2 of the turtles and colored them with copic markers and then I cut them out.I added SHIMMERS to the turtles as well for some interest. I used pop dots on the little turtles and lifted them off the card to create dimension. I added the little flowers to make this card really happy! I mean... really... what could be happier than friendly turtles? Check out DRS Designs for the other new releases and keep an eye on my blog for some more sneek peeks!

Why does this Fairy have a Lantern?

Because it is easier to see the Easter Eggs that she is looking ... that's why! The DT for Paper Makeup had a challenge and it was to use a Paper Makeup image and make a treat container for Easter. No Problem! I used this darling little fairy, Jaina, and colored her with blue and brown copic markers. I used SHIMMERZ on her wings and lantern because they just need the glitz that SHIMMERZ has! Then I used my nesties to cut out the brown mounting panel and the panel that she was on. I used my handy dandy Scor-Pal to make this precious gable box and I will be filling it with treats for my Easter Dinner Hostess! Making the gable box was a snap and took me about 2 minutes to do... so they would be easy to make a bunch of them for Easter! Please check out Paper Makeup to see what the other terrific Design Team members have created! I hope that you will get some wonderful inspiration from them! Happy Easter, Y'all!

Because, Sometimes it Takes a Frog

I have 5 siblings... all older than me... which is crazy because I am older than DIRT! I am making 5 of these cards to send to my siblings... because... sometimes a frog is all it takes! This cute and super smart frog is from DRS Designs and so is the best sentiment in the whole world! I used the top note die cut to frame this little guy and then I stamped the sentiment and cut it with the nesties.I added some fun frog colored ribbon and here is my super awesome card!!! oh... by the way... I colored the frog with my copic markers. I also added the dots with a gel pen. Keep an eye out here for some really cute sneak peeks from DRS. ANOTHER new release... can you believe it... Paper Makeup Sneak Peek...

All of you loyal Paper Makeup followers know that this darling little fairy's name is Jack... but for those who have NOT seen him... he is one of Paper Makeup's newest Image! Jack is available for a special pre-order sale, along with some other PRECIOUS fairys, some lovely quotes and Bible verses. For those who have not seen Paper Makeups stamps... YOU MUST! They will ALL be on your wish list! For this card, I colored Jack with copic makrers and,I added SHIMMERZ to his wings because even boy fairys sparkle! I used some matching ribbon and flourish punches to the corners for interest. For the saying, I used a little rub on that I had. This sketch is available over at Paper Craft Planet. If you decide to play long with the sketch, Please upload your card there so we can all ohh and ahh! thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Elemental Doodles Easter Card

This is another simple card... ohhh am I going soft??? NO WAY!!! I just find it a little hard to make a card like this super blingy... I think an Easter card like this sometimes needs to let the sentiments do the talking. I stamped the cross from Elemental Doodles on white CS and the sentiment above it. I had this piece of paper from using the top note die, so I used it here to give the card a shadow box effect! I added some glue to the bottom of the cross and used Flower Soft to add some color to this card. I really love the simplicity of this card and believe it or not, simple cards are hard for me! I am much better at the Las Vegas blingy over the top embellished cards! So here is my card. When I see the sentiment... I pause to reflect. Yes, HE is risen... Praise the LORD! Have a wonderful day, friends and tomorrow... GLITTER!!!

A Quick Tutorial on DIMENSION

I wanted to show you all how I love to add dimension to a card and this awesome image from DRS worked perfectly! Here are the steps.

Stamp 2 of the same images
Color them the same way... in this case I will be popping up the candles... so I only colored them! You will see why...

Next I cut out the candles that I was going to pop up and I am getting them ready for the next step which is...

Add some double stick foam adhesive to the back of the candles you cut out. You may have to trim the foam to fit... but that is easy to do with some sharp scissors.when the candles are adhered... you can see how they are lifted away from the card ... adding a lot of dimension to the card.

And here is the final result! This is so easy and really adds a great little bit of pop (literally) to your cards...
Please check out all of the wonderful stamps that DRS has to offer here... and if you have not done so, check out the Challenge we have for this week making a single layer card! there is a chance to win some blog candy... Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Makeup Sentiments (and a pre order sale!)

Paper Makeup is having a pre order sale.
Make sure that you check out all of the darling
stamps that they have and take advantage of the sale!! There was a challenge over at Paper Makeup in PCP to use green, orange and white in your card. I chose this sentiment and I used the stamp set Swirlie Buds for the images. This was a really easy and quick card to make because there was no coloring... only stamping. So this time, the stamps did all of the work and i think they did a great job! I used my nesties to cut all of the shapes and I mounted the green layer onto a white card. I added the small pearls in the corners of the card for a little interest. I stamped the sentiment on sparkly white paper and it really looks nice in real life. Have a great day and happy shopping!

One Layer Card...FOR REAL???

This was the Challenge over at DRS Challenge blog... a one layer card... WOW! I usually use so many layers that the front of my card is so heave the whole thing tips over! Well, I decided to so this ribbon frame that was a challenge over at SCS for the technique lovers. Then I added my stamp, from DRS of course, and colored it with copics. I colored the corners and added the green metallic studs in the corners and in the center of the flower. SO... I learned something... this was not impossible and a one layer card can be super easy and super cute! We are also opening this challenge for everyone to play along with! You have a chance to win a great prize... so check it out and learn something new, too! Check it out here!

Cleo and Figaro

We bought Pinocchio for Petite Diva and have
now watched that movie like 3 zillion times! When she saw this card... she wanted to know if this was Cleo the fish and Figaro the cat form the movie! I love how the cat and fish are shaking hands... this stamp is sooo cute! It is a Stamp Oasis stamp from Rubber Necker and I made this card for the Challenge over at the Rubber Necker Challenge blog. I followed the sketch and this was my take on it! I used SHIMMERZ for the fish cut outs andI painted the stars with it too! I put crystal effects on the fish's bubbles to make them shine! I colored this with copics(my FAVE) and added the glitter and gel pen accents around the images and on the scroll punch outs. The sentiment is a rub on from SU. So here is my card for the challenge ... I hope ya like it! Have a great day... and watch this movie if you get a chance! Tomorrow... I will feature the Blue Fairy from the same movie!

Simple Sympathy Cards

OK... if you follow my blog or even know me a little... you will know that SIMPLE is not a word I use... I am unfamiliar with what it means. Blingy, over the top and embellished to the max... that I know! I made these simple sympathy cards using sentiments from DRS. I LOVE the really huge assortment of sympathy stamps they have available. This is never an easy card to make because usually the person getting the card is sad. But, when I lost my beloved Father... these cards meant the world to me...

I embossed the background on the pink one and them I used my nesties to cut out the shapes, added the sentiment tied the ribbon, added the rose and that was it.

For this one... I used the lily corner on Kraft
paper with versamark. Then again with the
nesties and the sentiment.I really like the way these came out and I would love for you all to go and check out DRS stamps and you will see the wonderful variety of sentiments for cards just like these! Thanks for stopping by... and even if they are not easy to make... send the card... you NEVER know what it will mean to someone!

High Hopes Bunny Belly Band Card

Oh, I love High Hopes Stamps! I love to color and these stamps let you do just that! I got this bunny stamp a while ago and I stamped and colored it and I just found it kinds laying around, abandoned! So I got out my handy dandy Scor-Pal and made a gate fold card with a belly band and slapped this little guy on there! He sure does make me feel happy for a Friday! He also makes me think of my Aunt Bunny, who also makes me smile because... no matter what... she is ALWAYS happy!!! I used Gamsol and Faber Castel pencils and colored him in and of course, I added SHIMMERZ to the egg! It always adds the right touch! I cut the ovals with my trusty Nesties and here is my card! Happy Friday and try to smile today... no matter what!

Chinese Takeout Anyone?

I got these little Geisha Stamps from Hero Arts at my LSS. I had to so something darling with them... so of course... I thought of a 3-D item and this takeout box was perfect! I stamped the little ladies on white CS and colored them with copics.I kept the same color palette so they would match! I LOVE using alot of different colors... so keeping it tame was a stretch for me! I stamped the fan, lantern and flower on the box in stazon and I left it plain to let the little gals SHINE! Next, I took circles of tan felt, stuffing and ribbon and made some cookies for the box! That is my favorite part of ANY dinner, so I figured, lets just GET TO IT!!! All 3 cookies took me about 10 minutes to make! If you click on the photo... you can see more detail in the faces of these dollies! So that is it... just a fun little project that makes me smile... I hope you smile too! Enjoy your day!

Elemental Doodles ATC

I made these ATC's with the new "He is Risen" set for Elemental Doodles. They are a new stamp company that have some really awesome clear stamps! I love this set because of the designs and the sentiments as well. This set would be great for Easter but also other cards and projects as well...First Holy Communion, Sympathy and maybe even Baptism. I made the background paper with glossy CS and the Polished Stone Technique. It made the background so soft and pretty! I cut the blue scallop oval with my nesties and the white scallop oval as well. Then I did the stamping and lastly, I added the butterfly. I painted SHIMMERZ on the paper and let it dry... then I punched the butterfly and added it to the ATC! Thanks for stopping by and please check out Elemental Doodles and their awesome new stamps!

Winter Pansies

A while back I won a contest for a $100 gift certificate for Clear Art Stamps. This was one of the sets that I got and I LOVE this set! It reminds me of my sweet little mommy! SHE LOVES pansies and little girls!(must be why she had 4 of us... maybe the 2 boys were for Daddy?)Oh and one thing that i found crazy... in the South... the pansies are planted for the winter and removed in the spring and other flowers are planted. In Buffalo, pansies are the SUMMER flowers and NOTHING grows in the winter!(LOL) ANYWAY... I used black detail embossing powder and watercolors on watercolor paper to create my little flower girl. I used nesties to cut the shapes and added the details to spruce it up! I love the way this turned out and the crushed velvet ribbon adds so much texture to this! I hope you enjoyed this card and have a Happy St. Pat's day!

When Pigs Fly!!! Hey... Wait a Minute!

I made this card for the challenge over at the Rubbernecker Stamps Blog to create a card with any type of fold besides the regular fold. So I did a double gate fold card with a belly band and I used this gorgeous little flying pig stamp from Stamp Oasis. I used my awesome Scor Pal to make the folds in the belly band and the card! What??? you don't have a Scor Pal??? And why not? I love this thing and it is on my stamp table all of the time... the best part???Diana, the owner and INVENTOR of this little miracle! She is a DREAM to work with and she has the kindest heart of anyone! Check them out... then BUY ONE...

So, Like I was saying... I stamped this little guy and colored him with gamsol and faber castell pencils. Then I added SHIMMMERZ to the wings and the moon and some of the little stars in the background. I cuttlebugged my top note die cut and cut it in half.I cut the image and the background out with my nesties and decorated the inside of the card as well. I punched some stars out and painted them with SHIMMERZ as well. Here it is! I hope you like it!
Thanks for looking and if you get the chance to
play along... Check out the link for
They have some really fun things!

Forget the Singing...Sparkling in the Rain!!!

I LOVE Paper Makeup stamps! I love the owner, Katie and all of the other gals on the Paper Makeup Stamps (PMS... HEE HEE HEE) paper craft planet chat! What a friendly bunch of gals and such talent! I made this card for the Bling Challenge over at the PMS blog. It was to use some type of bling in your creation... yeah... NO PROBLEM!!! I used this precious little Emma Fairy stamp and colored her with copics and gamsol and colored pencils... I added SHIMMERZ to the umbrella, stickles to the wings and glitter and gel pens everywhere else! For the pink butterflies, I painted the paper with SHIMMERZ, let it dry and then punched them out and adhered them to the card and popped the wings to make them 3-D.I added some heart lace to the pink ribbon and then added that to the pink and white polka dot paper. The dots have glitter in them too... so here is my creations... Check out PMS and I know this is the kind of PMS you will enjoy!!!

Inky Impressions 1st Design Team Call

Hello everyone! Some of you may have seen these 2 cards before... but I am submitting them to Inky Impressions for their first ever design team call. I am showing my coloring skillz!(LOL) I must admit that I love love LOVE to color stamped images in and I love using a variety of mediums in each image! I used copics, gamsol and colored pencils and sponging in both of these cards to achieve the effect that I wanted. I also like to use the cuttle bug and lots of other embellishments to add depth and texture to my cards for visual interest. I love to do alot of detailing with gel and glitter pens as well... "GOD is in the details..."
Thank you for taking a look at my cards and my submission and I hope that I will have what you are looking for. Have a great day!

A Card With Heart!

I wanted to show you this precious card! It is using our Cutie Pie Kids! These little images are so sweet and they are wonderful to color! DRS seems to have one for every occasion as well. I wanted to showcase this little cutie pie because it is so fun to get a shaped card! I stamped and colored the image with gamsol and colored pencils. Then I placed my die over the image and placed a small piece of tape to hold it in place. I cut out the heart shape and then a few more for the background and the delicate scallops. To get the card to fold and keep the heart shape, I placed the die over the fold and then it it so the fold would remain and the heart shape would be the base for my card! Quick, easy and fun because it is something different! Please make sure that you stop by DRS Designs and check out all of the new releases for Easter and Spring and of course, the Cutie Pies!

This One Just Makes Me SMILE!!!

I was browsing the SCS gallery and I found that someone had made a card with a stamp from a company called Rubber Necker. So what does a stamp junkie do except go to this site hoping for a fix! AND FIND IT I DID!!! Look at this precious stamp! It is from Stamp Oasis and they have some REALLY cute things over there! I colored this one with all of the things I could find! Copics, gamsol and pencils gel pens and glitter pens... and how stinking cute is it? I LOVE the raccoon at the top... and the smiley purple flowers! I used some really neat background paper that I got at M's for 99 cent on clearance and a clear round tag with a rub on I had laying around the house! Then I found these tiny little buttons that my sweet little mommy gave me and I thought that was a great touch! Thanks for stopping by and please go and check out this site! The shipping was sooo fast and not at all expensive and for every $20 you spend you get a free stamp! HOORAY FREE!!!

Here They Are... in all of Their Adorable Glory!

the new releases from DRS...
All images have SHIMMERZ and were colored with gamsol and faber castel colored pencils. I loved this soft look for the Children! I used the cuttlebug on some, others got ribbon... but most had glitter pens and gel pens for accents! I will show the Easter and Spring releases next, so get your ordering self ready for more yummy goodness from DRS!

Sneaky Peeky Poo!!!

OK... I was given the "go ahead" to show some of the DRS images for a Sneak Peek... I chose this one! OHHH... My pencils and Gamsol May NEVER be the same again! I colored this image with Gamsol and Faber Castel Pencils. For those who have not heard my Prisma pencil rant... I DESPISE these confounded things! Every time I sharpen them, they break and even when I DON'T sharpen them... they break... total waste of money and worse than that ... MY TIME!!! Phew... back to happy stampy! So after I stamped and colored these little duckies in, I painted SHIMMERZ on the leaf and the flower petals. In the center of the flower, I used crystal effects and clear glass beads for a bumpy raised texture. I LOVE the sentiment and the colors seemed perfect to me for a nice springy Easter card!Check out DRS and see what else is new!YOU ARE GONNA LOVE IT!

Well, Why Not Meet Friends in the Birdbath?

I found these stamps from someone who commented on one of my cards and I asked her where she got them and thanks to the technology of the Internet and paypal, they were in my hot little hands a few days later! I colored the image with copics and glitter and gel pens. Then for the felt flowers I added SHIMMERZ centers! I got the felt flowers on a roll at M's for $1... totally in my price range! I colored the pink flower with my copics and added the charm and then the ribbon. I added the sentiment on the side like that and I didn't know if I liked it like that... but i got the Hubby's seal of approval... so i glued it in place! I love the green background paper. I cleaned out the paper stash today and gave some to Petite Diva and I was so inspired by what I found... I was having a really great time playing with colors and patterns! I hope you love this... and please check the birdbath for friends!

SHHHHHH!!!!! It's A SECRET!!!

OK Gals!!! I have no photos for you today... you have to wait till March 6th when DRS releases some of the MOST darling stamps i have ever seen! They are so fun to color and I know that if you are like me... you will want every one of them! So when my designer package came in the mail... I stamped, colored and made a card out of almost all of the ones that they sent me!!!

That MUST Be A SNOW Umbrella...

...at least if she lives in Charlotte, North Carolina it is!~ I CANNOT believe that we got substantial snow last night...in March... in the SOUTH!!! YUCKO! Anyway... Petite Diva and I played in the snow this morning at 8AM!!! OK 2 things I don't like... snow and 8AM... but combined??? Major bummer!

Here is the card that I made for the copic challenge. It is a cool site... they five you colors to play with and you make your creations using these colors. This week we had to use Robins Egg Blue, New Leaf and Salmon Red...So here is my card. I got this stamp a while ago and had not used it til now! I love the way it turned out. At first it looked a little bit plain... but then, I just kept adding things and embellishing it and now I love it!I used Key Lime SHIMMERZ over the New Leaf dots on her umbrella and my cloud template for the clouds in the background. The ribbon was run and the zig zag punch is a new one I bought from EK Success from Michael's. They are on sale this week... so check them out! Thanks so much for looking and have a good, warm, snow free day!
