CUPCAKES???!!! Sweeeet!

I LOVE Impressions Obsession Leigh Hannan Stamps! They are swirly, twirly,detail-y and just plain FUN! Here is her cupcake stamp and I LOVE IT! the best part about this stamp is that i got it on sale for 30% off and it was local so no shipping! Yeah me!!! I stamped it in black and colored it with copics, glitter pens and gel pens (what else is there... RIGHT!) I added Crystal Effects to the cherries and the strawberries for shine. I chose this sentiment as I thought it kept with the spirit of whimsy that this card has because of this awesome stamp! So there is my card, Cupcakes... I hope you love it as much as i love swirly, twirly cupcakes!

I Love "Gingerbread Love"!

What can I say about this card?I made it for a challenge over at Mothers and Daughter's Creations a while ago and I am just getting around to posting it! ( oh, the holidays!) I used my nesties, some awesome ribbon that I have been saving for that perfect card, a cuttlebug embossing strip and an embossing folder and of course gel and glitter pens. I did alot of sponging around the edges for depth as well. I love these new nesties! The shape is SO pretty and there is so much you can do with them!
I added a little XOXO button at the top to show some Gingerbread Love and here is my card! Have a great day!

80 degrees???

I love snow for Christmas. My family and I drove the Dainty Diva back to Buffalo, where my family is, to celebrate the Holidays and to see some snow. Well, y'all, Christmas is over and now as far as I am concerned... it can warm up to 80 degrees and melt the snow and we can all swim. NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!!
Well, at least Tilda is warm. I used gamsol and fabercastel colored pencils to color this image. I used Shimmerz for the wings and chalked some water below her feet...she is ready to swim!!!I used the scallop edge punch on the red paper and added dots with the gel pen. The best wishes sentiment is from SU, and I used the curly label punch to punch it out. I added some ribbon for texture and here she is... at lest someone is warm...(LOL)

My Merry Christmas Tilda for my Merry Christmas wish for you all! Pretty simple, colored with copics, glitter pens and liquid applique on the cuffs! Short post today as my Dainty Diva is ready to rip into Christmas...

Blessings to you all...

Another Lovely Faerie and Dovecraft Paper

This is another gorgeous Faerie from my friend Susana's store. OOOHH... I love this image... she looks like my very own Dainty Diva!I stamped the image and colored it with copic markers. Then on the ribbons in her hair, I used my glitter pens. I used gel pens for the accents on the ribbon slide and the dots. I painted Opal Shimmerz for her translucent wings. Shimmerz are perfect for the faerie wings because they are see through and have gorgeous shine and sparkle to them... like I think wings would have! Because the main colors are yellow and brown, I used this gorgeous piece of paper from Dovecraft, also from Susana's store. It all went together SO well! Well, that is my card... now go to sleep and look for the dancing sugar plums, y'all!

DRS Birthday Big Clip Card!

I made this card for the DRS Challenge blog. It was fun
to make and I love that after the person is done with the card, there is a fun little clip left to use as a bookmark, shopping list and coupon holder or whatever!
I made the card first using the easy backgrounds from DRS. They are foolproof and easy to use. They come in alot of different patterns to suit any occasion! I added the sentiment and some ribbon... sponged the edges and here it is! Be sure to check out the bottom picture of the clip. This was so easy to make! I stamped my image, punched it out and colored it. I layered it on coordinating paper and stamped the same circle for the back and glued them together with pop dots! How fun and easy is that... give it a try... you can get the huge paper clips at Target or Staples... thanks for stopping by!

DRS Designs "Bling It" Challenge

OHHHH I love me some BLING! I made this card using DRS stamps. I LOVE the large star... the scrolls are SOOO pretty! I stamped it in versamark and embossed it with gold glitter embossing powder. Then I took the star ribbon slide and embossed that in sliver white glitter. I took silver and gold ribbon and wove it through the ribbon slide slots to make the poof. I added the sentiment and the glitter stickers in the corner and here is my BLINGY card! I love the clean and simple look of this card as I CAN (and HAVE) gone overboard !!! Please check out the DRS designs challenge blog and play along with us! Be sure to link your creations so we can ogle the BLING!!!

We could call it "Kissle-Toe"

Since there is always all that kissin' going on!
This is one of the new releases from Pink Poison
This is the Cake Topper set and I just made them look like a Christmas couple doing a little smooching under the Christmas tree.

I cut the scallop rectangle with my nesties and added sponging and dots and this FAB ribbon is from the Stampin Up mini catalog that was just out. I LOVE it and I think it adds just the right touch!

Beginning Sunday, I will be out of town for the holidays, but I have still scheduled some posts. I hope you will enjoy them and I hope that everyone will have a wonderful, safe and Blessed Christmas season. Please keep in mind the reason for the holiday is our Saviours Birth, and I encourage all of you to celebrate that as well. Thanks for stopping by!

Stamp Something Sketch Challenge

Hello, my name is Dawn and I am a Challenge-aholic.
(Hello Dawn!) This was for the sketch challenge over at Stamp Something. I love to do challenges. It seems like they keep me focused and I get some good direction. Here is my card for this challenge. Check it out because DRS is offering some blog candy!
I used 3 easy background stamps to make the patterned paper. The dots, the squares and the spirals on the darkest purple paper. I colored the images with copics and the candle was colored with Twinkling H2O's.I painted Shimmerz over the bow. I used crystal effects on the hurricane globe to make it look like glass. I used a poinsettia and some holly leaves in the corner to match the image. I used gel pens for the dots and here it is! Check out the sketch challenge over at Stamp Something and play along...who doesn't like blog candy! Thanks for stopping by!

A Precious Merry Christmas to Y'all!

I am a transplant to the south. I am a native New Yorker! I have lived in the south for 12 years and I STILL notice a few "precious" quirks. When something it totally adorable(think kittens,babies,puppies)... it is called "precious." "Y'all" is basically you and "all y'all" is a group. When something tragic happens ... the statement is followed by " bless her heart", ie: "She has to buy her dresses at Tent City, bless her heart." I think it is a southern way to ward off bad juju. ANYWAY... onto my "precious"card.

This is a Magnolia stamp and I used Fabercastell colored pencils and Gamsol. The prisma colored pencils drive me crazy because the lead breaks all the time and they are the DEVIL to sharpen. Then I colored the letters with a glitter pen, punched the snowflakes with my Martha punch.... used the scallop edge punch, added ribbon, gel pen dots and here she is! I hope that "all y'all" think she is just "precious" and that all of your cards come out lovely. Not like my friend Tilly's cards... "bless her heart!"

A Lovely Blend of Companies...

I made this card using stamps from 2 different companies. The image of the girl is a Magnolia stamps and the image of the pine branch is from DRS... I felt like they just really went well together! Sometimes, if my plate is empty (LOL) I will stamp some images and just color them to have something to do...especially when I don't have a card in mind. This was one of these images! First, I stamped the pine branch right onto the patterned paper. Then I colored it in and used Twinkling H2O's (twinks) to color the ornaments. Then, I cut out the image of the little girl and adhered her so she looked like she was decorating the tree! I used my own layout and added the sentiment to balance the layout... and here she is! Of course, I used my gel and glitter pens because I almost have to sit on my hands not to! So here is the challenge... check your stamp stash and see which ones work together... it is fun to see how they can compliment each other. Thanks for stopping by!

Mothers and Daughters Sketch Challenge Card

I wanted to let everyone know that we will be hosting challenges over at Mothers and Daughters Creations (MDC) and any one is welcome to play along. This week it was a sketch Challenge and here is the sketch and my card that I made for it. If you would like to play along, please link your creations to the MDC Challenge Blog... we would love to see it! Now on to the card...
It was a fun sketch to do... I used a piece of 5 x 10 cardstock and folded it in half for the base. I cut the patterned paper for the background just a little shy of 5 x 5 so there would be a white border. Then I punched the scallop squares and the smaller squares and layered them after sponging them around the edges with some brown ink. Next I stamped my bee hive image
and colored it with copic markers, gel pens and of
course, glitter pens. I assembled the entire layout,
added my dots and such and here it is! I hope you will get inspired to play along with this weeks sketch and show us at MDC your card as well! Thanks for stopping by!

My Darling Winter Princess...

... and my 100th post! Hooray!!! This is another darling

Princess Anya card from the Pink Poison 12 Cards of Christmas Challenge! My Dainty 4 year old Diva said,"Mommy, is that me?" It DOES look like her. She has gorgeous brunette hair to her waist... So, yes, my Darling Dainty Diva... it IS you!

I Stamped this image and colored it with copic markers. Then I stamped the dress on the blue dotted paper , cut it out and adhered it to the first image and paper pieced her dress. I used a piece of vellum for the background and I punched and decorated the snowflakes with dots and glitter and I mounted them on some silver starburst punches. I tore 3 pieces of white cardstock and inked the edges in blue to make my Princess look like she was in the snow directing the the snowflakes with her glittery fairy wand! I love this card... blue is ANOTHER favorite color of mine and I also love this princess who does look like Dainty Diva Knight.

And I got some WONDERFUL NEWS! All of my hard work did not go to waste. I WON THE CHALLENGE AT PINK POISON!!! and I won all of the new releases. Click HERE to see all of the new releases that will be coming January 1st! they are gorgeous, stamp perfectly and are really affordable... WILLOW

I love this faeire... her name is Willow.
I used opal Shimmerz on her wings and key lime Shimmerz on her outfit. I colored the image with copics first and then I got her good and glittery with the Shimmerz. I have just started using this product and I don't know how I ever lived without it!
It is perfect for these gorgeous faeries from my friend Susana's store... be careful... she has some gorgeous stuff!!!

I mounted the image on black paper and then the yellow corners and the patterned paper last. Then I mounted that whole stack onto the pale yellow. I used some die cuts for the corner and here she is... If you click on this image you will be able to see the flower wreath encircling her! I colored that with my trusty glitter pens (I love those things!)I had to add my dots and that pretty much does it for this Willow card. Hope you love it and have a happy, shiny, Shimmerz-y Saturday!

I Wonder What She is Thinking???

The last time I snuggled a mushroom, I was thinking about... WAIT A MINUTE... I NEVER snuggled any mushroom!!!

This Gorgeous little Faerie is from my friend Susana's store. She has so many of them ans they are STUNNING! They are easy to stamp, easy to store (no wood... just use an acrylic block) and easy to afford!

I colored this little gal with my copics, glitter pens and of course, gel pens. I used December Sky BLINGZ on her wings. I have not yet figured out how to get a good photo of that part... but I WILL!

In the background, I added some soft clouds and here she is! Check out Susana's store for all of the fun stamps and other accessories that we stampers just cannot live without! That is all for today as my little Diva has a dentists appointment, ballet and school... and I am her TAXI! (LOL)

Peace on Earth from Astronaut Ian

OH YEAH! another card from the 12 days of Christmas Challenge over at Pink Poison. This is one of the new Ians... Astronaut Ian... sooo cute! I love this little guy! He looks really cute with the big blob of crystal effects that I used for his helmet... it is super shiny and looks like glass... too cool!

I came up with the design idea and concept for this card myself... out of my own little pea pickin' head! I must add that I was quite proud of myself! I stamped the background with DRS Designs easy star background and inked the edges of the black with a silver encore pad. I cut a small white circle and made the Earth with copic markers and a little silver around that as well. I stamped the sentiment on sparkly paper and added some red sparkly dots to it for some more shimmer. Easy peasy! Go and get some of these stamps! They are gorgeous... super affordable and fun to make all kinds of cards with! Thanks for stopping by!

Anya Elf Snowglobe Shaker Card

So we all know that I CANNOT resist a challenge (or a dare for that matter )and over at Pink Poison there was a great one! Use the Anya and Ian stamps to do the 12 days of Christmas. Well not only did I get them ALL done...I finished on day 8! It was a Christmas MIRACLE! This was also for the Challenge over at Mothers and Daughters Creations to make a Christmas card that was shaped...and since my 4 year old is OBSESSED with snowglobes, this is my creation.

I colored Elf Anya with copic markers and did the background with clouds and even some grass... but the "snow" is covering it. Then I cut out 2 ovals, for the front and back and an oval window in the front. I attached acetate, used double sided sticky foam tape to raise the front from the back, added the "snow" and that was it! I used the largest Labels 1 Nesties and folded it in half for the base. A few dots here and there and some glittery snowflakes and here she is!

Girls, check out these awesome website and their delish stamps and papers. I promise you... you WILL make your Christmas lists even longer!

My Ornament for the DRS Challenge!

I made this Moravian star and then stamped the star (from DRS) colored it with copics, punched it out and added it to the star
with some string. I of course had to use glitter (what is an ornament without glitter) and here it is. You can find the super easy directions to make these stars here.
My husband and I were in Gatlinburg about 7 years ago and we went into this charming little store and there was this super nice gentleman who spent like AN HOUR teaching me how to make these things! He was so patient! He said that he and his mother used to make these for Christmas. Well, I never forgot him or the ornament... so I thought I would share it with you all. I hope that you will try to make some of these... it is not hard even thought it may look that way... Try it...You can wow your friends with how cool you are!(LOL) if you want to play along with the challenge... please do so and link your ornament to our blog! We would love to see your work!

Ladies... LETS PAR-TAY!!! (Properly, of course!)

Love this stamp, Love these ladies... Love parties!!!These gals look like they are ready to pary... properly, of course!
I got this in a huge grab bag of stamps on e bay for like $12. I got well over 100 stamps and this was one of them! Lucky me! I stamped the image in Adirondack black ink and used water colors and copics to color them in! I used the marble texture cube from Stampendous for the background with white craft ink. Some dots, a few circle and scallop punches later... and viola... lets PARTY!!! I like how well the ribbon coordinated with the color scheme and if you click on this card... you will see all of the glittery details like the earrings and jewelry that they are wearing! I of course used my glitter pens for that... and gel pens for the dots!
My little one got up this morning at 5:30 and has been at full tilt all day... so this post will be short... but I still hope you will get inspiration from it! Thanks for stopping by!

Good Rosey Rooster to ya!

WHAT???!!! I made this card a little while ago and have not posted it yet. I LOVE the Impression Obsession stamps and Leigh Hannan is my favorite artist over there! I have been looking at these stamps on line and just could NOT justify (to my hubby at least) why I NEEDED them. Well, I am luck enough to live by the best stamp store in North Carolina... Stampers Alley... and she had them for 30% off... and no shipping!!! No time to justify... I had to SHOP!
I embossed this Rooster in detail gold embossing powder and then I set to coloring him in! I used SU ink and a water color brush and here is my result. I thought the background paper was perfect and the scrolls and dots look like a marquis in New Orleans (to me at least). I am not sure if there is a Rosey Rooster Holiday... but if there is ... have I got THE card for it!!!

Love Love LOVING These Fairies!

I am so loving these darling Fairies and my Shimmerz and Twinkling H2O's (twinks)... I CANT STAND IT!!! I did this little Fairy with copic markers in lavender and light green and then I went over her with Shimmerz and twinks. I had to add some grass and clouds and to me she looks like she lighted in a meadow to take a rest from flying! I of course had to add stickles around the borders and all of my dots... Then I added the flowers in the corner on pop dots. They are from prima and they came in the cutest tin!!!( I think that is why i bought them!) I had not used them in a while because I was saving them for something special... and this little gal is IT!

Please take a look at my friend Susanna's store and get your hands on some of these little darlings! She has the prettiest stamps and the prices are awesome!!! It is fun to get the package too because she adds a little goodie... I LOVE GOODIES!!! So why are you still reading??? GO and get some yummy stamps... and show her what you have done with them!!! And me too...I would love to see your fairy creations as well...
