ARTful Inkables Think Ink Challenge... ATC into a Card!

So our challenge at ARTful Inkables this week was to make an ATC and then turn it into a card... so I used the set Sunburst Dandies to create this ATC. I embossed the glitter flowers over the red circle and sponged some clouds into the background. I stamped my sentiment onto some SUNNY card stock and punched it out. I mounted the entire thing onto a green piece of paper and that was my ATC.
And here is my whole card. I just sponged a white A2 sized card and adhered my ATC onto it! Please play along with this challenge and make sure to post to the ARTful Inkables blog so we can see your creation and there are prizes! Thanks for popping in ... see ya tomorrow with another fun challenge...

I Have a FUN Announcement...From me and Prickley Pear!

I added a new image to my sidebar. That's right... I was chosen as a new Design Team member for Prickley Pear Stamps! They have some gorgeous stamps and these awesome transparancies that you can add to card and they arfe FUN FUN FUN to create with! I am really excited to work with these amazingly talented ladies and the wonderful goodies that Prickley Pear offers!

These trees are from Prickley Pear and I colored them with markers, added glitter, cut them out and added them to the embossed panel. The I added that whole panel to the patterned cardstock. To add some more bling (which I LOVE) I used a snowflake die with the sticky red sheets, got out the glitter and coated those babies up. I added the snowflakes in the corner of my card and added a few stars too. This was a fun card to create and I really like the non traditional Christmas Colors! So fun!!! Stay Tuned to see more creations with these AWESOME stamps and products from Prickley Pear!

Halloween Party Invite... DRS Style.

I love love love this stamp. What a super fun Halloween party invite!
I brayered the background on NON glossy card stock and this is what I got...so I KNEW this stamp would be perfect on this background! I stamped the image and then I colored the cauldron in with a glossy black embossing pen. For the moon, I punched a circle on scrap card stock and sponged gold ink and then removed the mask. I decided that the sky was a little bit empty... so I knew that bats were in order... and here is my card! Quick enough to make a lot of them for a huge Halloween party... but a great looking invite just the same... and that is what it is all about... right! Thanks for popping in!

Aloha From Bombshell Stamps...And ME!!!

I LOVE this set...I am pretty sure I look like her...at least in my head I do!
I colored her with copic markers and then I sponged the clouds and the sand. I used a new embossing folder on the pink paper and I gotta say... I love the texture of it! It really adds something. I colored the tree in and cut it out and added it for shade. God forbid our Wahini should get a sunburn! I die cut the flower and added a fuzzy brad to hold them all together and then added it to the card! And so that is it...my fun and fancy card... with some BOMBSHELL appeal! Thanks for popping in!

One LONG year...

This was the post that I put up one year ago when I lost my dear mother... It has been a LONG year and I still miss her every bit as much as I did then...Time is healing NOTHING for me...Thank goodness for stamping...Thank you for reading this and remembering her with me...

As many of you know...My precious mother has been gravely ill. It is with a very heavy heart that I must inform you that My Dear Mother has passed away. She entered into the loving hands of our heavenly Father on September 18th... one hour after I saw her and introduced her to her new grandson Jacob.

She was truly an amazing woman who will be missed and lived a life like no other always keeping family, friends and the needs of others in her heart and mind. She was a servant of the Lord and I feel some sort of peace knowing that she is home and no longer in pain.

I, however, have lost my true north...my guide...my cheerleader, my confidant, my shining example and the best mother and friend anyone could have ever wanted. She always told me the right thing to do... and I did it... if not for me but to make her proud. Her family was first... always... and she was the most kind, caring and compassionate person ever. If you knew her... you were truly made better just by being her friend.

I ache for her and I can only hope that one day... this ache will be less as I know it will never go away.It causes my physical pain to know that I will never hug or kiss this dear woman again. She is gone and there is no more. She has taken a piece of my heart and my mourning is intense and overwhelming.

Thank you to all of my true friends that have been there for me and for all of the kind words and prayers.

I leave you all with this reading that has brought me some comfort knowing that others are rejoicing and she will be met with love...

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side, spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and startsfor the blue ocean.

She is an object of beauty and strength.

I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speckof white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone"

Gone where?Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast, hull and spar as she was when she left my side.

And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.

Her diminished size is in me -- not in her.

And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone,"there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voicesready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!"

Paper Peicing with the Pals!

How cute are the precious lions? I used this weeks technique of paper piecing to make a cute baby boy card! Why a baby boy card? Becasue the adoption of my son after 14 months is finally FINAL!!! So I felt the need to celebrate with a boys card! I colored this image from Woodware USA JUNGLE PALS set with copic markers and stamped the different manes on other papers. I cut them out and adhered them to my lions. I love that they give the lions different personalities. We would love to see your creations too....so be sure to leave your link in the comments section and play along! Tune in tomorrow for another take on this super fun technique! Thanks for popping in!

Double Embossing and DRS Designs Stamps!

One day at a time indeed... but lately, several have been piling up on me all at the same time! Thank goodness for my escape... STAMPING! I learned this double embossing technique and I knew that I could not wait to showcase one of DRS Designs wonderful sentiment stamps in the frame that it made. I chose One Day at a Time to remind me of... well... just that. I stamped the leaves around the outside edges to incorporate the black into my color combo and add some texture. Then, ribbon, bling and flowers to complete the look. Thanks for popping in and I hope everyone has a cheerful weekend...

Who Needs Teeth Anyways???

I made this super fun candy bag for the challenge over at The Burtonesque Dolls Challenge blog. It was to create a candy bar, bag or wrapper that one might find in Willy Wonka's candy factory. I used Bombshell stamps SUGAR SKULLS and decided that these looked good enough to eat! And in true Willy fashion... the candy has to DO SOMETHING, right???So, I decided that this will rot the teeth right out of your skull. What could be better?  I colored these with copics, glitter pens and added tons of bling for the sparkle factor! This was a fun challenge... Thanks for popping in!

Love this Image! I adore Snowmen and I wanted to use another color besides green and red and Santa is sporting enough of those colors, So I went with the blue to show off Snowy a little bit too! I wanted to decorate the inside of the card as well, so I used some die cut snowflakes and stars in the corner for a little bit of interest also!

For Santa's beard, only liquid applique would do. In the past, I always heated it wet,but someone told me to wait and heat it up when it is dry. I got a flatter and more even result... Pretty neat!

I used an embossing folder for the snowflakes and sponged this gorgeous blue over it to make the snowflakes show up a little bit more. Then some macthing ribbon and a fun snowflake... and here is my creation! Thanks for stopping by!

WoodWare Anything Goes ... Even Glitter Alligators?

I LOVE to do anything goes... I LOVE thinking outside the box and here is what I did. I stamped the alligator from JUNGLE PALS onto acetate with stazon ink in jet black. Then, on the same side that I stamped on, I filled in various areas of the gators with crystal effects and dumped glitter on it and repeated the process with different colors and glitters and here is what I came up with. I used pop dots to life the acetate alligator panel off the paper so the light would show through and I covered the dots with the leaves that I cut out. I added the leaves under the panel too and got out the stickles and jazzed them all up! This was really a fun technique and it was funny too because Milo, my 15 year old Jack Russell STILL has glitter on him... and so does my hubby...(but that can be our little secret!)
