NOTHING Says I Miss you Like a Huge GORILLA!!!

Oh how SWEET is this darling little guy? He is from Paper Makeup Stamps! I did this for the sketch Challenge and I just CANNOT get over how DARLING this little guy is! He comes with another sentiment that says I'm Sorry and her really does look sorry! Precious! I colored him with Copics and dabbed crystal effects in his eyes for that I Miss You and I am all teary about it look. Then I layered him on this Nestie cutout and added the black dots with a gel pen for detail! I added a lot of sponging to this image as well because I thought it added some really nice depth. I love the little flower charm and it matched the paper lace strip perfectly... So there he is... I hope that you like this little card... I just can't get over the look on this little rascal's face... it just makes me smile! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

OH YEAH... Another Holiday!!!

But this time we get green beer!!! I made this card with DRS stamps and I again used an easy background stamp. These are really simple and I will do a tutorial on JUST how easy next week sometime... so watch out for it!!! I used my scalloped nesties and the Happy St. Pat's stamp and the shamrock background stamp. I colored the shamrocks with my copic markers and this was a quick and easy card to make. That is awesome, because EVERYONE is Irish on St. Pat's day... so you will need to make a BUNCH of these, right? I used glitter pens for the detail and this awesome green card stock that I found in my scrap pile! (love the scraps!) So... get out the green ink and paper and these 2 awesome stamps and get going... oh and don't drink the beer til AFTER you are done stamping!Trust me on this one!

Whimsy Stamps DT Submission Card

I made this card for the Whimsy Design Team Call that they are having and all of the details can be found right here.I used a Whiff of Joy stamp as I don't have any Whimsy stamps,(YET)... but do check them out as they are darling! Here is what I did to this little rascal! I colored the mouse with copics and I did the cupcake with gamsol and faber castell pencils.I added glitter pens to the cupcake sprinkles.(When you click on the picture, you can see the glitter better!) I also used them around the image on the white rectangle and on the blue scallop square that I mounted the image on! I used my nesties to cut the large piece of patterned paper at the bottom of this card and used glitter pen on that as well. I cuttlebugged the little yellow Happy Birthday flower and mounted it to a piece of chipboard that I cut out with the cuttlebug as well. I cut some swirls with a quickutz die and added them for a place to mount my flowers. for the final touch I mounted all of this onto a piece of pink paper with glitter dots and added the yellow polka dot ribbon. And here is my creation! I hope you like it... now I am off to get a cupcake!

Dancing Fairy...or a Sleep Walker?

I love this image and this card and the colors...
but she is called a Dancing Fairy... and to tell ya the truth... She looks a little like she is sleepwalking! I had to add the heart that says DREAM just in case she really was sleepwalking!
I used SHIMMERZ on the wings and on some of the flowers. I cuttlebugged the background and sponged it for some depth.I used my MS punch for the patterned paper on the top and bottom to make it look like lace. I colored her with copics and I sponged the clouds and the ground as well.I added the gel and glitter dots for details and here is my card! I hope that you like it and be sure to get enough sleep so that you don't sleepwalk through YOUR day!

Easy DRS Birthday Shaker Card

I made this Birthday Shaker card from a paper CD holder. I bought a box of these at the office supply store ... they were fairly inexpensive and the best part is getting friends to go in together to share the cost! This is what the CD holder looks like before the fun begins!
I cut a piece of white card stock 4.75 x 4.75 and I stamped the image and colored it in with copic markers and glitter pens and I sponged the background with some orange to give it some texture. In the four outermost corners of the white card stock with the stamped image (L451). I put 4 pop dots to lift the paper up so that my confetti will move freely inside the CD holder. Then, I added the stamped cardstock, the confetti and then I sealed it shut!

I Stamped the front of the CD holder with a part of

stamp K662 to make the bubbles. I used different colored inks to make it look festive and then I added the star buttons. I don't like to see my buttons "naked" or without string... but what to do when you don't have matching string? I took a super skinny piece of paper and used it instead of thread to match the orange card stock background! So easy to do and the color will always match!

For the base of the card... I cut a piece of orange cardstock 5.25 x 10.5 and folded it in half to mount the sealed CD holder to.I cut 2 pieces of card stock for the inside of the card. The blue is 4.75 x 4.75 and the white is 4.5 x 4.5. I inked the edges of both card stock pieces and then I stamped the sentiment(G483) in orange to match... then next... the balloons (E491).And... that is my card! This is a really easy way to make a shaker because the window is already made for you! I hope you will give this technique a try... I know that you will enjoy the result and so will the person who receives the card!

TAG... you ARE it!!!

I made this card for the challenge over at the DRS Challenge blog. The challenge was to use a tag in our creation... so on went the thinking cap and here is what I came up with! I made this card using the new easy background stamp and the tag had the HELLO sentiment on it! I made the tag holder myself with some punches and a little scoring here and a little folding there!I cuttlebugged the green paper and sponged it so the branches would stand out. They match the DRS background stamp really well. The sentiment is simple and this card would be great for a man or a woman! I hope that this inspires you to play along with our challenge. You may use any stamps... but why not check out the DRS on line catalog to see the great stamps we offer and you can get them mounted or unmounted...this saves space and MONEY!!! thanks for looking and play along with the challenge... y'all know I cannot resist one at all!!!

40 just keeps on CHASING ME!!!

... and last year... it caught me! I should show my Paper Makeup monsters running from 41, cuz that is what is trying to catch me now!!! Well... it's not THAT bad! I used copics to color SPIKE and then I cut him out... I Used my nesties and added some texture on them with the Cuttlebug. I got the top note die out and sponged and dotted that layer for some depth and to give my shapes somewhere to "sit."Next, I stamped the 40 and layered it and made it chase Spike... YIKES!!!I added some matching ribbon and button start and a little ric rac for a bumpy road (which 40 is fo sho!) and here he is! Spike running from 40.. and who could blame him!
For this next Paper Makeup card... I used one of
the gorgeous fairies that she has. This fairy, Penelope, is so pretty and serene... I think I felt calmer even coloring her and making this card! I used copics again and glitter and gel pens. I had to use SHIMMERZ on the wings and glitter pens for the fine detail, like the buttons at her collar and the swirls in her dress. I made her long hair dark, like Petite Diva (my 4 year old). She gets a kick out of my cards and always loves when they look like her! Anyway... I sponged dark clouds around her so that her lantern would be the focus. I used this patterned paper for the background because it had an Asian feel and so does Penelope. I cuttlebugged the grey paper and layered ink on it until I got the depth I liked and then I added some silver ink for a sparkle. I used my flourish punch and some ribbon and flowers for the details. I hope you like these cards and that you will check out Paper Makeup Stamps as they have some GORGEOUS new stamps and they are on sale til Wednesday... why are you still here? GO... GO NOW and buy them!

Everyone Loves a Bee Floating on a Cloud!!!

Look at just how happy this little guy is! He is floating on his shimmery cloud (painted with SHIMMERZ, of course) and looking at the word LOVE. I bet he is thinking of all of the people that LOVE him! I know I sure do! In FACT... I love all of the bug stamps over at ALOTA stamps!Helene is such a nice person to deal with and the stamps come RIGHT AWAY! I used my Top Note Die from SU and also my nesties for some fun background shapes. I colored the bee with copics and I put crystal effects on his wings for fun! For the sentiment, I covered a chipboard circle with paper and sponged the edges and then I popped the word up by using pop dots... and of course my detail dots!!! and here he is! I hope that you will enjoy seeing this little guy as much as I like working with these stamps! Click here to check them out!

I added some star shaped rhinestones because we all KNOW that Anya is a star!!! I want to be her when I grow up because she has so much fun and such long legs! I had to color her hair brown because she looks like Petite Diva! I cuttlebugged the blue background paper for texture and I added my flourish punches for some more detail! OHHHH... I am DYING for Spring now!!!

Yeah, yeah... I live in the south and the weather is great and all... but there are NO FLOWERS!... I mean SPRING flowers. i got my Whiff of Joy spring kit the other day and I could not wait to ink these babies up! I colored the stump with gamsol and the grass and the little girl I colored with copic markers (of course!) I used my cloud template for the sky. I got out the embossing folders for texture and the flourish punch for some dimension. I HAD to add the spring flowers and there is SHIMMERZ on her dress ruffle and the flower garland in her hair. The sentiment is a rub on. I love the lace border on the bottom of the pink and purple panel... it is done with the MS punch. I added some really pretty twill tape in the background and here is my card. I tend to get a lot going on in my cards... but I could not resist... it makes the card so much fun to look at.Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

I can't for the life of me remember if I have posted this card before or not... so lets just pretend I didn't! This is a magnolia colored with my copic markers and of course SHIMMERZ! I found out that I did not make the Shimmerz design team, but I still love the stuff... so be prepared to see it still... because I am NOT BITTER... :-( Just joking...(mostly!)

I'm Stickin' with the FROG!

I made this card for a DT call over at High Hopes and I just love the stamps! How sweet is this, for real? I stamped the princess, colored her with copics and cut her out. I did the same for the frog. For the stone fence, I stamped that and colored it with gamsol and faber castell colored pencils. I love the effect that gives! It is so soft and pretty!!! I used the sherbet paper from Basic Grey and the yellow paper has been cuttlebugged and sponged so that the texture will show up. I stamped the sentiment and punched it out. I sponged around it so that it would stand out and then I added the sparkly dots for some fun detail. I used my new flourish punch, added the rhinestone flowers and matched the ribbon to the other paper. I love the way this turned out and I really like the sketch they gave us to use. So that is it!!! My sweet little princess who is sticking with the frog...Maybe she has got something there!!!

Gotta Put My Makeup On...

On my BLOG, that is! My friend introduced me
(read...ENABLED) to these gorgeous stamps. They are from a stamp line called PAPER MAKEUP... how cute is that? You use makeup to enhance your face... so you use STAMPS to enhance your PAPER... get it!(LOL) She has beautiful sentiments and the other stamps are just plain PRECIOUS!!! She has animals and fairies and MONSTERS!!! OH MY!

So let me tell ya about my cards... The first one is a sentiment from Paper Makeup. I used SU designer paper and my new scroll punch. This paper called for pearls, scrolls and paper roses! I love the way my MS punch made the paper look like lace... I used my nesties as well and here is the card.

For this next card, I used one of the gorgeous Fairy images from Paper Makeup and colored her with copics. I used SHIMMERZ on her wings and on my embossed background paper. Oh yeah... I used SHIMMERZ on the little paper flowers also! I stamped the fairy on paper that I cut with the large nesties. I cut the background circles with my nesties as well and added details with gel and glitter pens. I added the ribbon and the heart button on it! I thought it looked like she had scattered that one as well. More scrolls and then the dots and here it is!

Oh and how can you even be afraid of THIS monster? How cute is DRECK? I think what HE is afraid of is 40!!! Don't be scared, Dreck... it only hurts for a minute! He is one of the darling monsters (or is he an aliens?) from Paper Makeup. I used my trusty nesties again and the copics to color this little guy. I had some awesome ribbon that matched my color scheme perfectly and it also matched all of the dots! I used crystal effects on his eye and SHIMMERZ on the dots and the horns! I love the way this turned out and I really love this IMAGE!!! it is just SOO cute!

So those are the cards... please take a minute to check out Paper Makeup stamps... I know that you will enjoy what you see there! Have a good one!!!

Nothing Says PARTY Like a Leaping Sheep!

Or is that just the way us Southerners get down? I love this little guy from Whiff of Joy... the party animal set... so darn cute!I outlined him with my copic grey and painted him with angel wings SHIMMERZ. I used copics on the presents and his feet as well. I cuttlebugged the green and yellow and did SHIMMERZ on the embossing to highlight that, I LOVE that effect... and I sponged around the edges for depth. I added these fun flowers and leaves and dressed them up with some pastel brads. I punched an oval and added a sentiment from SU with a rub on-very handy! and this completes my Whiff of Joy party animal card tour. I will have some fun new cards over the weekend... so stay tuned... and have the Happiest Valentine's Day. I will be spending mine with my darling Hubby and Petite Diva, my 2 favorite people! ENJOY...

Quack! Quack! CHEERS!

Here is another Whiff of Joy Party Animal card. I love that these images are so fun to color and are also fun to well... just LOOK at ! Look how happy that little duck is, and her baby! I used copic markers to color the image and then I painted the water with SHIMMERZ. I also used SHIMMERZ to highlight the embossed background that I cuttlebugged! I used my nesties on both the ovals and the labels in the background. I used my MS punch for the brown paper and , of course glitter and gel pens for the details! I sponged the edges just to add depth and I think that it really finished the edges of the cut paper.Tomorrow will finish my party animal cards and then I will have some really cute cards from some of my favorite companies. OK, OK... they are ALL my favorites... but hopefully they will be your new favorites too!

Party Animal + SHIMMERZ = Precious Card!

I have had these Whiff of Joy stamps for a little while and I have FINALLY had the chance to ink them up! I colored this little rascal with my copics and I used SHIMMERZ inside his ears and on his tummy. For the background, I cuttlebugged the paper and I sponged it to highlight the texture of the words and then I got out my BLINGZ (SHIMMERZ sister) and highlighted the words Happy Birthday and some of the little flowers as well. I used my super cool new flourish punch and some of these cute little flowers from Petaloo. They are so cute and pretty cheap, too! I got about 80 of them for $3.50 at the LSS and they already have the gems in the middle of them! I thought that was a pretty good deal! Of course, I had to add the glitter and gel dots for the details and
PRESTO... my card!!! I love the look on the mouse's face... he just makes me smile! I hope you all have a great day and if you get a chance, have a cupcake!!!

Down on the Farm

This is a card that I made for The Greeting Farm Valentine's Day contest! This was a really fun card to make! I stamped the image and cut her out. I colored her with copic markers and added SHIMMERZ to her hair. I added little teeny rhinestones to he bows and bandanna. I used my top note die from SU in the background and added texture to it with the paisley cuttlebug folder. I layered the flowers but not before I painted the lightest one with SHIMMERZ. For the heart flowers in the background, I stamped them, colored them with SHIMMERZ and outlined them with a red glitter pen. I used nesties all over the place on this card and one little sentiment from SU. I got out my MS doily punch and added white gel pen dots for the last detail. This was a fun one to make! I am gonna send it to my big sis for her birthday! Have a great day!

An Asian Influence

Well... here is what happens when you watch
Memoirs of a Geisha and then try to stamp something!
You wind up making what you just saw... or at least I do! I got this darling Hero Arts set at the LSS and treated myself to it... I could NOT resist the cuteness of these little Asian dolls!
I used this gorgeous paper from Mothers and Daughters creations (click on the link and it will take you to the paper page) and it was PERFECT for this card! I used my nesties and of course had to add my Shimmerz to her fan and the lantern. I had to add a rhinestone gem in her hair, because in the movie, that was a HUGE part of the Geisha outfit... and it went into that even more in the book! So here is my super cute and, for me, super simple card! I had to share the cuteness for Monday... Just to get y'all going! So my homework to you all is ... watch a movie... get inspired and then stamp something!!!

Spaceman Ian!!!

I thought this little image from The Greeting Farm, spaceman Ian, was darling and fit in perfectly with the sketch challenge from Club Anya!(YUP... ANOTHER contest!) I used the cuttlebug texture plates to add dimension to the planets and then I used my nesties to cut them out! I used the DRS easy star backround stamp and for the haze around the sun... I used white craft pad and chalks. On Ian's face mask on his helmet, I used crystal effects for that awesome glass like shine! And Girls... I know you're just waiting for this... I used my precious SHIMMERZ on the helmet, the shoes and the sleeves. So that is my card for yet another challenge and I hope y'all like it!Check it out and play along!

Hello, I'm Dawn and I an a Contest-aholic!

This card is for a contest at my FAVE site...
The Greeting Farm. You can see more about it
here. You had to write a little poem to go with the card and here is mine:
Anya wears a pretty hat
Ian thinks that she is all that
with her little dog in tow,
She is a one woman fashion show!
For those that don't know... Ian is her boyfriend!
The set I used is called Pretty Hat Anya. I colored it with copics and used my top note and nesties for the layered shapes to create interest and dimension. I of course used SHIMMERZ on her hat, the green flower, the heart on her hat and the bow on her dress as well. If you have not used SHIMMERZ on prima flowers (or at ALL for that matter)...LADIES... you have not lived!!! I used my MS doily punch and some ribbon that matched perfectly... I think it was on the shelf saying" I am right here and I am perfect for your card!"So that is it ladies...thanks for checking it out and play along with the contest... and I am gonna WIN!!!(LOL)

Ummm... There are BUGS in my Candy Box...

That would normally gross me out... but OH the cuteness of this stamp! I LOVE IT!!! This is from Alota Rubber Stamps and I thought it was darling! Their bug images are just so adorable and there are SO MANY to choose from! I colored the image with my copic markers and highlighted the area around it with a gold gel pen. I used my SU top note die and some nesties. I popped up the nestie layer and then the candy box/bug bed image also... so there is A LOT of dimension on this card. I used coffee SHIMMERZ to color the area behind the candy (the bottom of the box) and it really made the candy stand out. I added prima flowers, i sponged everything and of course gel pens and glitter pens for detailing!if you are looking for a way to "stimulate the economy" check out Alota Rubber Stamps. Great prices and they ship super fast. Here is a question for you... when it comes to chocolate... nuts or creams? I love chocolate covered nuts...but I never turned away a good raspberry cream... What about you?

Is that JOY I Smell?

Ahh YES... another Whiff of Joy (WOJ) card! This
Image looks soooo much like my Petite Diva... the long brown hair and the bare feet! So Cute! I used Coffee Shimmerz in her hair for that highlighted effect! I had this patterned paper laying around and it just worked with the whole thing! I did a SCS sketch challenge and I really like the way it turned out. A little non traditional for the Valentine's Day cards I USUALLY make... all bright pink and red!!! For the pink panel in the back... I used a new cuttlebug folder and sponged it for texture and I made the fluffy bow thing in the corner all by myself ... not what I had intended... but the end result is pretty cool. Well, Dear Blog Friends... that is it because I just got home from work and I am off to veg! Have a good one!!!

Something Sinister in Wonderland...

I know he has a bunny near him and all... but this mad hatter looks a little sinister to me...I wonder what is under his hat??? This charming little chap is from the stamp set WONDERLAND available at The Greeting Farm. I used alot of fun new stuff on this card. I used my new flourish quickutz die that I got at HL for 40% off... and this cool new product called flower soft...I know they have this at Simon Says Stamp... (click on the logo on my sidebar.) I colored this little rascal with copic markers and then added SHIMMERZ to his hat and to the bunny's ears. I think it looks like the moon highlighting it! I used my encore pad and my cloud template for the sky and silver cardstock (CS) for the moon and swirls. I tore and sponged green CS for the grass knoll that he is standing on. I dabbed crystal effects and added the flower soft to make it look like he is standing in a moon lit field of wild flowers... but where was he before??? Or more importantly... what was he doing???

Here She is...ALL OF HER... In All Her GLORY!!!

OK... I thought that I gave a pretty easy clue...
so I tried to throw you all off by having her be tan! The "her" being DRESS ME ANYA . I CASEd this idea from someone... (if it was you... please speak up!) and I thought she would look great with a tan and with some SHIMMERZ for her glistening skin(spray tan, of course)!
I used my nesties for the blanket and the sun. I sponged around them for detail and depth. Then of course, glitter pens. I used the ric rac to make it look more like a beach blanket. I used the wavy blade on my cutter to make the waves and sponged around them as well. I took the sand colored cardstock and used my marker tool to splatter 3 colors of brown to make it look textured. I colored her skin and her bikini with copic markers and added the dots with a white gel pen. And here she is, in all of her glory! Please check The Greeting Farm to see all of the wonderfulness there! I love the stamps and their blog... and the owner, Marie... is WONDERFUL! Thanks for checking in to see the full card and for playing along today!!!!
