SISC 35 Oh Scrap...

Here is the Challenge for this weeks Stamp Insanity Challenge blog...OH, SCRAP!
 - Create a project with only your leftover bits and strips of paper and bitty pieces of ribbon you just can’t part with! Any scraps will do!! No one will call us crazy hoarders – will they?
HAA HAA HAA... Love that show... ANYWAY... I used this darling little image,Morgan Claus, and this wonderfully true sentiment. I colored her with copics and then I got to use my glitter pens and stickles to dress her up... and of course liquid applique for her "fluff!" My scraps were the red polka dot ribbon... and I had JUST ENOUGH!
Be sure to pop over to the Stamp Insanity blog to show us your Stuff...

And...for this weeks Asylum...I present
Norwich State Hospital

The Salmon building at Norwich State Hospital, Connecticut's second public insane asylum, founded in 1904, was a building built for male forensic patients, those found not guilty by reason of insanity. An original construction building, part of the initial footprint of the hospital campus, Salmon was a milestone in terms of the construction of psychiatric hospital buildings for the violent insane. Every window was barred with prison-style 2/3 inch thick iron bars built into the brick, as well as a heavy mesh screen. In order to move down the ward, the door ahead would only be unlocked when the one behind was closed - airlock style - which would insure that even in the event that a patient escaped his room, he wasn't going far.

In nearly 70 years of operation, not a single escape was recorded from Salmon

Fab card! I love the details...the sparkle, the shine. The sentiment is awesome. Nah, I don't think anyone will call us crazy hoarders...of course who am I to talk? You should see all the odd bits and pieces I save. LOL ;)

The photo/info is quite interesting. I find it amazing that such architecturally beautiful buildings have/had such a dark purpose. Also interesting that they never had an escape.
