Time to Think About the NEXT Holiday...

...and it is one of my FAVES!!! I love Valentines Day! I love the colors, I love the candy hearts and I LOVE the Art Impressions Valentots! I stamped this little cutie with black Stazon onto watercolor paper. Then, I used STAEDTLER watercolor crayons to color this little darling in! I scribbled some of the crayon onto scrap paper and then I used a water brush to liquefy the color and painted her in! I added some glitter to the pom pom on her cap and here is my creation!

Where did the darling roses come from you ask... well... I MADE THEM!!! here is how! I used a push mold from STAEDTLER and some FIMO effects clay. I pushed the clay into the mold,removed it and here is my flower! The best part? I can make as many as I wan...in any color I want and I can make a whole cookie sheet of them in like 20 minutes! If you done want to by alot of clay... you can always so what i did and that is to add some extra color for dimension by scraping some STAEDTLER karat soft pastel chalks into a little pike and brushing the color onto the clay before baking it! It is a great effect and adds dimension and character super fast! i adhered them to my card with glue dots! easy peasy!Thanks so much for popping in and be sure to keep watching this page for more great creations!!

Here is a fun card I created! I have been house shopping and it is a daunting task! I thought she looked like I felt! OVER IT!!! LOL anyway... I colored this image from Art Impressions in using STAEDTLERS KARAT WATER COLOR CRAYONS and let me tell you something... I ADORE THEM! I stamped my image in Black Stazon and then i scribbled a little of each color that I wanted to use on some scrap paper... I used a water brush to liquefy the color and add it to my image!Quick and easy!!! And for the shading? SIMPLE! Just add more pigment to the brush and go over the image where you want it darker! I hope you enjoyed this card and thanks for popping in!!!

I used this stamp from Elizabeth Bell called Standing Pretty. I colored her with Christmas colors using STAEDTLER karat aquarell watercolor pencils. Then I added her to a background that I created using an embossing folder and coloring it in with STAEDTLER triplus fineliners.

I added some felt flowers and a rub on sentiment and here is my creation!

FINALLY... I Can Spill The Beans!!!

That about says it all! i was chosen to be a member of the STAEDTLER USA First ever Design Team!!!

They have some of the most amazing products for coloring,crafting, Drawing and creating... and hopefully I will be able to inspire you all with using some different kinds of coloring supplies to get some really dramatic looks!

Here is a card that I made using the STAEDTLER Karat Soft pastels and the STAEDTLER Karat Aquarell Water Color pencils. I colored the image with the Aquarell Pencils and mace the background paper by stenciling a flower pattern onto it. I outlined a Prima flower with the Karat soft pastels and rubbed the pastel chalk off onto the paper and this is the effect I got!

Here is another photo in a different light! I love the dramatic look of this card and I am so in love with Sweet Pea Stamps and i KNEW this would be a wonderful image to highlight the STAEDTLER products! Please make sure that you check back for more inspiration from STAEDTLER!

Oh Meredith Dillman... you are one talented lady! I love her images... they are SOOO much fun to color and create with! I colored this one a long time ago and finally got around to making it into a card!

I used copic markers and i even colored the flowers to match! I never thought that peach and grey would work... but to me... it really did! The bright flowers really set this off and I hope that you will enjoy this card as much as I seem to!(LOL) I am just so tickled with my work...

I ADORE snowmen...and this one is no exception! Art impressions has come up with a really clever way to give gift cards this holiday season. Actually, there is a Card Keeper stamp for many occasions... i just happen to love snowmen and with the upcoming holiday season... this is the one I am showing off! I added the gift tag to the snowman's hand but cutting a slit in his mitten between the finger and the thumb and it slid right in there. This was a quick and easy way to dress up gift cards and I know that my special occasions will taken care of easily with these fun and easy stamps!

This is a darling new stamp from Paper Pretties... I love getting boy stamps because I have the most precious little boy and I forget how darling boy stamps can be. I colored this little guy with copic markers and I added him to this piece of patterned paper that reminded me of school doodles. I added glittery star punches and here is my creation! It was hard for me to do Halloween with this guy... but I Imagined it being my sweet little guy dressed as a basket ball player!LOL how is that for using your noodle? How cute is this little guy? He is from the new release from Paper Pretties!

The paper in the background really created a nice home for my Gnome and I added the grass (made from a punch) and the mushrooms...also part of this set... to his environment.I also added liquid applique to his eyebrows and beard and puffed them up!

He is of course colored in with copics and as cute as a button!

I LOVE this sweet Little Stamp! I am so happy that Sweet Pea now carries Elizabeth Bell... how darling !

My precious Ava had a little outfit like this when she was little...and this stamp just reminded me of her at that age! And yes... she was SASSY! I tried to make the flowers look like strawberry blossoms... and all the dots... well, they just make me happy!

I colored this image with distress inks and the skin was copic markers.

FOOTBALL??? How darling is this little foot ball guy? I love the stamps for boys... (now that I have one) and I just dont think that this guy could be any cuter! I colored him with copic markers and had so much fun doing it! I Really enjoyed the versatility of this stamp because it comes with many other sayings that are just perfect for boys of all ages! I adhered him to a cranberry panel after I cut him out and I thought that this football "star" would look awesome on some paper wmbossed with stars! Woodware Challenge... Anything Goes!

So... when a challenge reads "anything goes" I tend to step outside of the box and let the creativity go. SOOO, that being said... I got out the Woodware Peel Off stickers and the Pearl Ex and this is what happened. I stuck the stickers onto the cardstock and then I got my Versamarker out. I colored in the empty spaces with it and then I rubbed Pearl Ex into the when I removed the stickers, this is what I was left with. I added the Merry Christmas in the corner and tied the organza ribbon. So no real stamping at all... but I did use stamping supplies... cuz ANYTHING GOES! please remember to play along with us this week and you can be entered into a drawing to win a great monthly prize! Well, Bombshells... It Has Been a Good Run!

I made this card for the Bombshell Stamps Sketch challenge.

I have had to resign my Bombshell position because I have been very busy lately with getting my daughter ready for school and ballet twice a week, getting my son ready for Gymboree twice a week,adopting a new dog, becoming a consultant for Thirty One Gifts and my Hubby quitting his job of 9 years to start his own business! YIPEE!!! Can you say stress???

Anyway... my "happy place" through the stress has been stamping... but I don't need anymore deadlines... So I bid farewell to Bombshell stamps which makes me kinda sad because I don't think I will ever be able to truly be called a bombshell again... at least without surgery!!! LOL.

Woodware Color Challenge... Kraft, Red and Your Choice!

So I chose white! I am a card maker that tends to get a little carried away with the bling and glitz on a card... so I was really happy when I came up with this! I love the look... the technique is fun and it is still a clean looking card! I punched some flowers with my new SU dial a punch and adhered them to the crumb cake card stock... AKA craft. Then I ran it through the cuttlebug in an embossing folder and I got this super cool card! Whee!!! I tied the red and white polka dot ribbon and added the sentiment from Birdsong... and here it is! I hope that you like this look and will try this technique...AND don't forget to play along with us at WOODWARE USA this week... what color will you choose?

I made this card with on of Bombshell Stamps newest Stamp sets called Lotus garden. I stamped the image on to water color paper and then I used my Derwent Inktense colored pencils to color them in. Then i Stickled (is that a word?) the heck out of them and here is my card!

OHHHH... how much more could I love this Sugar Daddy set from Bombshell? I LOVED coloring it and embellishing it and just giving this guy his personality! It was really fun to make the money look like he was just throwing it all around...(my kinda guy...LOL) and holding his winning hand!

I used crystal effects on his eyes,nose and tongue to give them a realistic look. I added the rhinestone ribbon slide to compliment his flashy wardrobe and here he is... in all his glory! Thanks for popping in and have a great day!

...made this gorgeous image into a card! This is from Linda Biggs's and it is called Bella's Paradise.

I had this image colored for a while and then I finally decided to make it into a card and i am so glad that I did! i had a blast using all of my copics to deck her out and then i used glitter and ribbon and punched and here she is!

Bombshell Stamps Sketch Challenge...

Ha... tricky, i know... but then you can see all of the eye candy and all of the bombshell girls take on this fun sketch... and if you enter and play along... there may even be a prize... So... Check it out!

And for my card, I used this skeleton and colored it orange... I LOVE creative license! Then I die cut,sponged and "copic"ed my way to my take on the sketch! An how groovy are the polka dot letters? Well, here is a little secret! There were not polka dotted until I got to them with my copics! I love to be able to customize! Woodware Challenge...A Card for HIM!

Boys are HIM too, right? i chose to make a birthday card for a little boy and here is what I came up with! I used the Birthday Fun set and embossed and cut out the hats, mounted them on die cuts and then added a rub on sentiment.I used craft ink along the sides of the die cuts so it would stand out a little bit!

Bombshell Hump Day Hop! My Very First One!

So this is my very first Bombshell Hump Day Hop, and I could not be more excited!
the theme was to GOTH p your Bombshell Stamps.This was a little bit challengeing for me... but I did my best! I gave her smokey eyes with crazy long lashes and loads of liner... oh yeah... Purple hair too!

So here is my creation...
Notice her "tattoo?" I think she looks pretty "Goth"... what do you think?

Prickley Pear Circle Die Anniversary Card

Yes... you are at the right blog. I made an elegant and simple card...so not my usual. And this may be hard to beleive... but i had a harder time with this card then I do with the super fancy ones!

The thing that was super easy was using the awesome die from Prickley Pear. I ran it through the cuttlebug and viola...perfect. Then i layered other circle punches on it and stamped the sentiment. The ribbon made the card look so elegant and I really like the embossed background! Be sure to pop over to Prickley pear and check out their awesome selection of dies and matching stamps!

I love this set and I made a card for the May Sketch Challenge and I wanted to share it with y'all. I used my favorite set, Homeward Bound, and colored it with copic markers. I made the Designer Paper for the background by stamping the Mariners Star and embossing it with clear EP. It kept it subtle and added some fun texture! Welcome to this weeks Woodware Challenge! The challenge is to make a wedding or anniversary card.Well... mine could be used for both! I Used the FLORA set and I embossed it in silver onto blue cardstock... then I mounted it onto silver card. I added the sentiment with a peel off from Woodware and used a die cut shape. To give the die cut a little more dimension, I cut between the hearts and folded them up. I added the Silver dots with Viva Decor pens... LOVE THEM! With the addition of a fabby bow... my creation is complete. I hope you will play along with us and here are some basic rules...

MY Little Mermaid... and the rest of us...

I LOVE this stamp set from Bombshell Stamps. AND I will always color mermaids with red hair because of a certain popular mermaid that my daughter adores... so it is her request that all mermaids have red hair. Anyway... This was a super fun card that I made a while ago and I thought I had showed it... but ALAS... I did not... so here she is.

I used copics for coloring and stickles for her tail... AND for some fun underwater shimmer, I embossed some glittery seaweed for the goldfish to frolic in.

As for My Darling Little Ava Mermaid... She is excited. Why you ask? VACATION... and there will not only be a resort with 3 pools... but the entire gulf of Mexico for her to dunk her dainty toes in... Oh yeah... the rest of us are going too. I think my son has a little bit of Mer-boy in him,too. Well... thanks for looking...and have a great day!

A Super Fun Card For My Niece...Featuring AVA!

I LOVE these little Ava's from In Style Stamps. They are DARLING,they are easy to COLOR and they are named after MY DAUGHTER.... whom I ADORE! So what's not to love I ask you!

I colored this little Ava to match the background paper and then I added the super fun banner... Happy what you ask? HAPPY ANYTHING !!! I added some glitter dots near the top of the banner for the bling that I CRAVE! So that is my creation... Thanks for stopping in!

Pretty in Purple... featuring Rachel Anderson

I LOVE Rachel Anderson's stamps. LOVE them... like I LOVE ice cream and that is saying something! For my card, I used this image From Rachel Anderson's sheet 2 plate 111. I stamped the image onto watercolor paper with black Stazon ink.Then I used ink from the top of my ink pads and a water brush to water color her.I embossed the paper she is mounted on and sponged it with a darker purple for contrast. And as far as the shadowbox effect that my image is in? Simple... i used my dies to cut out my finished image. Then i used the next larger size die to cut the red paper and used a smaller die to create a frame I used dimensional tape to life the frame for the shadow box look. EASY... and a really nice look. I sorta stumbled across this category of stamps over at the Art Impressions webstore. They are called Stamp Puns and they are sooo funny! I used on for the color challenge over at the AI blog and Just creating this card tickled me! I mean... how adorable is this image! I enjoy sending cards to make people smile and when you check out the stamps in this category, I am sure you will need to add some to your collection!

I water colored this little lady and embossed the background and then sponged it to show off the texture. The flowers were a perfect match... so they went on there too! I used copics to color in the images and tons of spring Petaloo flowers to get in the Spring mood! These little gals are having fun on their egg hunt and finding hidden Easter Bunnies as well!

Brigid Ashwood's Steam Punk Bee...so COOL!!!

I have never ever in my whole life heard of Steam Punk...I mean I know who Sid Vicious was and all of that... But Steam Punk? Clueless. Well, Then Sweet Pea Stamps offered this gorgeous stamp and I am ALL OVER THIS TREND! I even have an embossing folder that has that theme (which I used for this card). OH... and then i found some DP that matched and when i sanded it... the clocks showed up even better! i LOVE when that happens!!! I love the whole mechanical look of this image. I love this little stamp from Prickley Pear! It is called Country Church and I colored the dogwood flowers with copic markers. I don't know if you can tell... but the 2 larger flowers are stamped twice,cut out and popped up for added depth. I added some flower soft and added it all to the embossed background. I used MOLLY and some superfun paper from my LSS. I loved the lanterns and it reminded me of how much fun I had shopping in China town.

Iused a punch for the grass, and did some sponging on it for a variation in color. the butterflies are from a die that I had and I used the atyou spica pens on the for some glitter and bling. I did it! I am on the Sweet Pea Design Team!!!! Yeah for me! I will so totally too my own horn here because I ADORE these stamps! I have loved them since they have some out... well since I found them...and now I am on the Design Team! Yeah!!! I made this card using Brigid Ashwood's Phunky Pharies. I colored her with copics for her skin and water colors for the rest. I added some details with glitter and gel pens. The embellies were fun... ribbons, buttons and one tiny fairy sized orange clothes pin!

I took really watered down ink and touched it to the wet paper and it spread out and created the soft, flow-y water color blended effect. then i took glitter cardstock and cut it to look like seaweed... and that is my creation! thanks for stopping by and be sure to join us at Woodware USA and link up your creation!

Woodware Usa Embossing Challenge...

This weeks Challenge over at the Woodware USA blog is EMBOSSING! You can choose Wet (with the powder and the heat gun) or dry (with texture folders or stencils...).

Here is the card that I made for the challenge and I used WW set Floral Frames.

I DRY embossed the butterflies, then punched them out and added them to my card. What do you think? I think it adds just the right amount of texture and dimension!

Whew... was i sick! I had such bad strep throat that all I could do was lay in bed and complain! I know I know...how could you tell I was sick? Well... I was asking for ice chips and complaining in a whisper!!!Anyway... I thought that I would show ya some fun and fave cards and projects today! Here is one of the first Sweet Pea cards that I ever made. The stamp is called Shining Through and the money went to help the Haiti Earthquake victims...what a wonderful cause..

This little charm bracelet that my darling daughter and I made was for my color challenge over at Bombshell stamps! I am Miss February and the color challenge was Red, Turquoise and Kraft. I thought that those colors were perfect for this lovely little Retro Cowgirl stamp set. My 6 year old Bombshell In Training LOVED making a craft that would be featured on Mommy's blog... she is such a love... and a creative one at that!

This next card is totally out of the box for me! The Silver Swans are from Prickley Pear's retro red rubber Valentine's release. I embossed them and then I added a silver metal wing to one of them and added a whole bunch of other elements and here is my card! They have some FABBY stamps in Red Rubber AND clear available... so be sure to check them out! That's Right! I said NEW STAMP SETS! Howdy and welcome to the Woodware USA blog hop! Art Impressions makes it SOOOO easy! AND... you probably already have the supplies that you need to create this awesome project. Water based markers... that's right...any water based markers will do. Bonnie, the amazing Art Impressions water color artist, uses,prefers and sells the Marvy markers. She references them in her work and her amazing tutorials on you tube and her written tutorials. I used some that I had... but I followed her tutorial and I had this lovely creation in MINUTES!!! Amaze your friends...( I amazed myself) with my water coloring ability that I never knew I had until I used the AI stamps. Look at Me...Using a DIGI!!!

I DID... I USED A DIGI!!! They are not my forte... but I Love the stamps and the people at In Style Stamps. I made this card using the BUTTERFLY image... and its a digi! I cut a piece of designer paper to 8.5 x 11 and i put it in the printer and said a prayer. I got my file ready to print and VIOLA!!! Out it popped... THEY WAY I WANTED IT TO! So I then cut out the butterfly, added some helmar 3 d glue dots to the body and the antennea and popped the wings. I used crystal effects on some of the flowers and flitter on the others. I put a sparkley gem in the middle of some of the flowers and used a rub on for the sentiment... and check it, I got my water mark on there too! Yeah me! Woodware Challenge number 10...ANYTHING GOES

This is my favorite Woodware set...Cocktails... LOVE IT!!! I stamped my image and then I colored it with Derwent Inktense water color pencils (my NEW fave) and I added some glitter to the "sweat" on the glass... I stamped the citrus slice in the background and I added some glitter to the center for a little extra bling. I love the oreange and yellow together... it has me craving a hot day and a cold drink!

SISC42... Let IT ALL Hang Out...

This weeks challenge over at Stamp Insanity was to "Let it all hang out" or OVER in my case. We were to let elements of our card hang off the edges. I chose to use Nicolette on my card and let her hang off the front flap. I cut the flap short and adhered her so that when you close the card, she still lines up and will fit in the envie. I decorated the inside of the card with matching ribbon and paper to make the card look whole when closed! How fun!!! I added some gems and here is the card!!! In the 1920s, New York State had operated six mental hospitals to facilitate the growing need for psychiatric care, and all were extremely overcrowded. The state's answer was to build the solution to this problem that plagued the New York City area once and for all - Pilgrim State Hospital.

Originally designed to house 12,500 patients on 1,900 acres of land, Pilgrim still holds the record of being the largest psychiatric hospital in the world - its peak patient population at one time was 16,000. The original hospital constructed from 1930-1941 consisted of four large continued treatment groups, each having about six separate buildings. The four treatment groups at Pilgrim were shut down, and eventually the fifty buildings were demolished in early 2003 after being sold to a developer.

I made this card using Prickley Pear's Jacobean heart stamp. I LOVE this stamp! The card is pretty simple(for me, that is) and I really enjoyed creating it! I used my nesties to cut a pink matt and then I felt like it needed some flavor... so off to the cuttlebug for some texture. Then I stamped and colored the heart and dressed it up with these amazing glitter pens. I sponged around the edges of the matt and across the bumps to show off all of that lovely texture. I used a rub on for the sentiment and punched it out and adhered it to my card and Viola... easy peasy lemon squeezee! Thanks so much for stopping in today!

For my card, I used the Woodware set Elegant Cameos. I ADORE this set and I had fun working with it!I really love the vintage feel of this set... but it is still fun and fresh! I used the heart cuttlebug background for my HEART part (lol) and I also used the Viva Pearl Pen. If I put pearls every place I wanted to... I would go BROKE... those stick on babies are pretty spendy... BUUUUT... these Viva pens are really affordable and the tube seems endless... More bang for your buck. Kinda Like these stamps...

I just adore these stamps and I love all of the unique artists that are offered at SWEET PEA STAMPS. Elaine Cox's designs have caught my eye because they are so very detailed and I LOVE that !I also love to detail them more after I have colored them in. For this image, I colored her face and hair with copic markers,and the water was done with water color crayons. Then I used glitter and gel pens to accent the water and her tail. I also colored over her tail with Shimmerz and I added Crystal Effects to the water for some extra shine. For the pearls in her hair, I used my viva decor pen. I used Nesties in the background for the pink lattice circles and here is my creation. I used some cuttle bug strips to emboss the top and bottom to make it look like bubbles. SISC41 Hardware...Use It In Your Creation!!!

This week's Challenge was to use hardware on your creation. I LOVE diamond plate... But using the real thing would make my card SUPER heavy... so I created my own! I wrapped a piece of tinfoil around a piece of card stock. Then I ran it through the cuttlebug with the diamond plate embossing folder.I got the look without the weight... how cool is that! Hellingly Hospital was a large mental hospital in the village of Hellingly, east of Hailsham, in East Sussex, England. The hospital, also known as East Sussex County Asylum or just Hellingly, was opened in 1903. Its architect was GT Hine, one of the great asylum architects of the era.

The majority of the hospital closed throughout 1994, however, and to this day much of the 25.4 hectare site stands derelict and extremely run down, after suffering repeated vandalism and multiple arson attacks

New Year and NEW Challenge... Woodware Number 8

Welcome to our 8th challenge here at Woodware USA. This week, in honor of the New Year, we would like you to use something "new" on your creation--something you perhaps have been dying to use, something you received as a gift, or something you picked up along the way! We'd love to see what you come up with!

My NEW was the snowflakes and the Viva Decor Pen that I used to secure them to my card! These pens are great and I Iove the colors that they come in and the fact that they are soooo easy to use!

I used the cute little snowman from the WINTER TOTS set.Christmas may be over... but I LOVE my snowmen!

Another Gorgeous Stamp!

This is another gorgeous stamp available from Sweet Pea Stamps. I have had a roaring headache for a few days but I wanted to post this gorgeous stamp and show the card that i made it into...

I colored it with my water color crayons. First I scribbled them onto paper and then I picked up the color with a water color brush to color my image. Then when that was done i added shimmerz to her hair and of course stickles and paper flowers and here is my creation! Thanks for popping in... time for some more aspirin...

For my card, I used the set WOODLAND MUSHROOMS. I made a shaker card because I LOVE THEM!!! I really love cards that do something!

Are You Kidding Me? How Gorgeous Are These Stamps?

This stamp is from: Elaine Cox's sheet 15 Fairy Portraits sold at Sweet Pea Stamps. They come on a sheet of 4... or you can buy them as single stamps.I busted out the pencils and the gamsol and colored the fairy for a soft effect. Then I added glitter pens for highlights in the hair.

The, I embossed the background of core paper and then I sanded it to show off the petals in the flowers. I needed to add the rhinestones to the center of the flowers because I LOVE bling! Here is another picture of the fairy for a closeup...

SHEESH!!! I just LOVE LOVE LOVE these stamps!

Going along with all of the snow around the United States our challenge this week at Woodware USA is to make a winter-themed card! I used winter tots for my card and I had fun with glitter... AGAIN!!! I love the Woodware USA tots stamps... fun to color and very whimsical! I added some cardstock trees and put all of that onto an embossed background that i stickled and sponged and here is my creation!
